Can you give me an address to which I can send a wedding card for Hypatia and Mike? Wedding's in June, right?

Certainly. It is Michael and Renee Powell, 39939 Stevenson Common, Apt. 106, Fremont, California 94538. Their wedding is scheduled for June 14, here in Fremont. I'm sure they would love to hear from you.

Everyone is getting married aren't they. Fax is married. Steve just got married. Stone is on the way to Marriage. Others are engaged who I shan't mention. Other folk I know outside of Shireroth are getting married, having kids. Not necessarily in that order

And us Tokians are almost all in high school... how micronationalism brings us all together. :p

yeah. Shireroth seems to be a college age micronation.

I keep running into more and more girls in my classes who are married. It's now procedure to look for rings. (though that doesn't confirm things sometimes, as I've discovered)

I ate the duck for dinner - it was very tasty. Not sure what to do with the teeth. I might turn them into a fetching necklace.

Curiously, in light of the preceeding sentance, I remain unmarried. :p

Perhaps you should gift your fetching tooth necklace to some lucky lady...

ahh.. for the days when fetching the skin of a fierce animal could win the heart of a lass...

It's true, now when I skin my enemies, I usually just pile their carcasses together in the corner of the living room. Which reminds me, I should move those before my parole officer visits.

Why can't courtship be as easy as it used to be...?

I blame the nintendos all the youts have these days. Back in my day, the only game we had was DOS. AND IT WAS FUN.

Personally I blame the girls for having standards. This innovation is completely unacceptable. ;)

Send my congrats to the happy couple.

I'm not sure if Hypatia would remember me if I sent a card...

P.S. My wife remains suspicious of this hobby and continues to mock me for it, thank you very much. :p

I shall do so. I'm sure she would remember you if you sign with your Shireroth name as well as your RL one. And tell your wife I got into Shireroth when I wanted to know what weird group my little girl was getting involved with, and stayed.

My wife has come to accept it, (especially since the end of the Cyberian Wars) and toys with the idea of joining occasionally.

"Don't ask, don't tell" is always a good policy when it comes to families.

"Outsiders" cannot comprehend this hobby when you tell them. I think we should start a society and have a signet ring struck and a secret handshake so when two micronationalists meet, they can recognize each other.

It's muich more cumbersome, but 2 years ago, when we had three Shirerithians visiting, I made a large Shireroth flag on a piece of art board, which I held up at the airport to identify ourselves to our visitors. It worked like a charm. It is a bit large for everyday use, though.

The Shireroth T-shirts also work. I still have mine, and it's part of my common wardrobe.

I actually talk about Shireroth on occasion. I just call it a government simulation online, making sure not to call it a game. I even mentioned it in a small (read: half page), response paper in one of my psych classes.

OH. And it just got mentioned in the introduction for the 5-7 (now 8) page research paper I'm writing on Group Decision Making. (and the role and function of consensus in such). This paper is angering me. I just got the conclusion left, but I'm a page over limit. And it's in strict APA format. I hate citing sources in my writing. I feel it honestly gets in the way of reading.

Unfortunately, that APA format isn't negotiable when writing psych papers. I think it is reassuring to some people to find a common format in papers. After the class is over, you can return to a more sane writing style.

Amen, brother. I agree.

What about footnotes, or has the world changed beyond my comprehension? (Which is likely.) :confused

I am fine with those... But I don't think many people really do that anymore.

"Don't ask, don't tell" is a better idea then you know, especially when all your relatives are hard-core Southern Baptist Evangelicals (I'm going to hell...).

Oh, and my Shireroth T-shirt got ripped to shreds somehow. How much is it for another?

I don't even know where to order them anymore. Scott might recall.

There we never that many made originally. and I think I might be one of the few Shirerthians left who has one. There are a few ex-citizens who own one.

*apologizes for being away so long and going back to old topics*

I'm one of two college-age people in Toketi (who are active), and we're among the oldest. We have an incredibly young memberbase.

On being married...well...I did that whole "ordained minister of the peace" thingy, so I'm can legally make people married... :document
