Call To Order

I hear by revoke Jacobus Loki's status as Steward until such a time as he can learn to place the well being of the Imperial Republic before himself. I ask that the Arbiter begin an official investigation as to whether Jacobus Loki has broken the law by attempts to depose the reigning Kaiser of Shireroth. As justification of this request, I present the following:
And you could have negotiated in good faith. You let power and the lust of it cloud your judgement.
You are deposed. We will see who the next Kaiser might be.
Jacobus Loki
Ruling Steward of Shireroth

I did it. I deposed you first, though.
I'm proud of it, and I'd do it all over again.
You broke the law. You know you broke the law.
By taking power in Babkha, you abidicated your throne in Shireroth.
Your orders are null and void.
Abdicate, now, with honor, and save the nation much trouble.
Gosh, smilies can be fun!
Jacobus Loki,
Ruling Steward

Jacobus - having a Cyberian Civil War in Shireroth will not make matters any better for you.

If Jacobus is revoked, and found guilty for doing his job right, I will resign from duty and lay down my task as Praetor.
I will not serve a kaiser who violates the laws of his country.

But does acting on the precautionary principle constitute "doing the job right".
My personal opinion is that no one need lose their job and that a general reconciliation is possible provided that a live and let live attitude is adopted.
I would note the following broad points:
1. It is not possible for Babkha to become a duchy of the Imperial Republic of Shireroth, the constitution prohibits active subordination to a foreign entity (this is a response to the debacle of the Grand Commonwealth).
2. The Shirerithian Commonwealth proposal is "doable" as it represents a dynastic policy that lies outside of the remit of the constitution.
3. There is no reason that the Kingdom of Babkha could not accept the subsequent Shirerithian Kaiser as Shah also, even were it Jacobus.
4. As has been noted elsewhere a dual monarchy would strengthen the Mango-Camel Alliance.
5. I rule myself out of any succession either in Shireroth or Babkha.
6. In Babkha the role of the Shah is to ensure good governance and adherence to the laws and customs of the Kingdom. History shows us that if the Shah had been Shirerithian certain policy mistakes of the past would have been averted (Bastan Jazireh, GC, SPEAR).
7. Both realms operate under what is in effect an oligarchic system of government and there is a long tradition of nobles offering good service in both nations (Zary, Jadie, Ric &etc).

Well put Ardy. I understand that Babkha has no problems with it, and I feel the Kaiser has sufficiently settled the constitutional qualms. On with the proposal then.

Perhaps then you could suggest what it is that I have not solved and I will seek to address it.

Any and all acts of the count of Hyperborea acting as Kaiser are void.

Ardy hasn't solved any SHIRITHIAN problems. Hasan did in the proper thread for debating this ...

Illegal revolts are the prerogative of the Duke of Yardistan and in consideration of that special dispensation Duke Jacobus shall be sparred the garrotte.

And of that I am glad. Long may the true and lawful Kaiser reign!

You do not know of what you speak! Do not call that curse upon us!
I don't care about things being
any better for me. Defeat and Exile in a noble cause is better than this!

Right fine.
I'm calling a hearing on this matter in my court!
I will ask questions and I will have them answered. And I shall resolve this.

The matter is before my court. I would suggest Jacobus to not use the title of Kaiser, as this may entail a breach of the Lawbook prohibition of impersonating the Kaiser as outlined in
Lawbook Chapter IV, Section A. If Duke Jacobus will further refrain from the use of this title, I will attribute it to a misunderstanding and dismiss any charge based on this frommy court.

In Babkha the role of the Shah is to ensure good governance and adherence to the laws and customs of the Kingdom.
Adherence to laws and customs... I'm pretty sure the untouchable status of the Shah which has long been the cornerstone of the Babkhan nation has been violated and spat on by the vast majority of the Babkhan citizenship. So perhaps a new Shah is needed, in order to punish everyone for treason. :P

I take up the case as Arbiter only. I take no authority in the case as Founder, nor does that position hold any legal weight.

If Jacobus goes and Jonas goes, I will no longer serve as MiniEx.

I go nowhere! I'm not a Babhkan, I'm Shirithian!
The only one who has the right to be in exile is our beloved
Steward Jacobus! And Malarbor demands he come back (doesn't he?)!
Now, we never saw that little topic with Jacobus resignation...

RUMOURS I SAY! ONLY RUMOURS!

So long as you continue, I continue. It was conditional. But if neither of you continue in your respective positions, I will resign also.

Did I return right in the middle of yet more civil unrest? I come at the worst times. Can someone explain, or point me to a thread that does, how Hesan can legally hold another citizenship?

He doesn't. The Shah of Babkha doesn't need to be a citizen of Babkha.

I spoke too soon, I saw the thread in the Judex, but let me say I am EXTREMELY uncomfortable with this. Shireroth is a country, not a domain, nor a cult of personality.

That is entirely correct. There is no intention to make Shireroth a domain or a personality cult.
