I am no longer Steward to Hasan I.

I am no longer Steward to Hasan, as Hasan is no longer Kaiser by his own choice. Those who say otherwise, I ask you to search your hearts for what is better in the long term for Shireroth, not what feels good today. The lawbook says the Kaiser may not have a foreign citizenship or allegiance. But it seems as though even those who wrote the ancient laws favor ignoring it in the pursuit of delusions of granduer.

It came to me this morning. Hasan hasn't done much except make promises. Now, I know, RL trumps MN life. This is not really a problem. I was having fun being #2. I understand being buried in RL. That is one of the reasons that the Stewardship exists.

I put a good face on the fact that the Kaiser was not around, greeting people, facilitating foreign policy, reopening the stadium (although that was 90% Ari). Doing a few foreign visits, adding actual territory to the Empire. Keeping the forum stirred up. Actually doing the job. I did it in his name, hey no big deal. I have done good things for Shireroth.

All the Count of Hyperborea did as Kaiser was to promise things that don't happen, and when he does become active, it is to emesh us in a Babkhan tar-baby to serve his own ambitions.

I believe now, after watching events in Babkha, that Ardy and Hesam have been plotting to use Shireroth to aggrandize Babkha and impose a Babkhanized regime on Shireroth, perhaps even from the time of the passing of Mors V. Like little children after shiny toys, we have run after the idea of a merger of crowns.

Those shiny toys are the shackles of Babkhan tyranny! My duty to Shireroth trump my duty to an alien Kaiser who is trying to lure us into bondage.

I assume full power, pending the coronation of a new Kaiser. I urge the count of Hyperborea to confirm this by issuing a formal abdication, and withdrawing to Hyperborea or Babkha with my felicitations.

Let those who distrust my actions be assured that I will accept the Golden Mango Throne (see, I can spell it) if it comes to me. I realize that these actions make that much less likely than before, but the independence, culture and ancient freedoms of Shireroth are much more important than the ambitions of myself or the Count of Hyperborea.

I will serve a new Kaiser, or be the new Kaiser, or accept exile if the contest go against me.

Rally to me, all who would not be slaves!

Jacobus Loki
Ruling Steward of Shireroth
Duke of Yardistan

Now hang on Jacobus, that's going way, way too far ...

I have no interest in "merging Babkha and Shireroth". They are two distinct cultures which would be entirely incompatible with each other even I had any interest in the concept. However Jacobus is now just randomly posting anything he can so I think he needs "a time out" until he calms down and can deal with this in a civil fashion.

(Disclaimer: I know that Ardy and the Count of Hyperborea are nice RL people. All comments are for the purposes of simulation. :) )

We are wasssyyy past civil, all the way to Civil War. :evil His erstwhile Niftines had an opportunity to negotiate. He decided to try to use his supposed office to bully his way past any concesions or assurances, prefering to rely on absolutism.

Perhaps Shireroth is supposed to be an absolute monarchy, but as the Stewarts of Britain discovered, that does not sit well in practice among a people used to certain freedoms.

Abdicate now and end this. Go and be Shah! Be a glorious Shah, and may the gods bless your Shahness.

but your Kaiserness is over.

Loki II
Kaiser of Shireroth

Oh boy... this is spiraling out of control at extreme rates, faster than the events after the death of Mors V.... :(

There was no violation of sacred tradition then. Promises were made vis-avis Babkha which are now being broken in the full light of day.

A Kaiser must consider his people. No Kaiser can rule succesfully without a level of consensus.

The law is being shattered. The madness must stop.

Babkhan go home.

To enjoy home, to rule at home. In peace.

Just go.

As far as I can see Jacobus, you don't have consensus. You have your opinion graffiti'ed all over the forums and Jonas.

I wasn't insulting Jonas, I was stating that he sides with Jacobus in this matter. Jacobus attempted (yet again) to market himself as the choice of "consensus". The fact of the matter is simply because he posts his opinion enough for 4 people, does not mean even four people support his illegitimate claim.

Others who've had concerns about my proposal were able to approach the issue with civility, so why is the steward of Shireroth, a person who is supposed to be level headed, acting like a child?

I think he's a little upset you pulled rank on him near the start of this (but then, he did try to suspend you from your position at the start of this) ...

Alright...I've had it now...im sick and tired of this happening, it WAS fun until people started taking it to seriously (you are reminding me of Bill and that having a nightmare over Erik being Kaiser [yes, i read the archives]) So i'm not gonna take a side unless someone vows to end this nonsense!

Unless something shows up in the Courts, I'm personally staying out of this. Except to say: If we made a commonwealth, and Babkha recognize Shireroth as their monarch. It would be rather cool. Even if the position there was reduced to just figurehead.

I use the 'side' of Jacobus because I'm from the opinion, he handled right.
There are a lot of solutions:
- The kaiser abdicates
- The kaiser refuses the Babhkan Trown.
- Babhka becomes a duchy
- The law get changed
- We create the commonwealth, with in the charter the permission to the member states they can make the kaiser their head of state (the problem stays: how do we know he is allegiance or not to another country).

And before we think about making our kaiser Shah of Babhka, I must notice it's illegal!
The Babhkan Shah can't get fired. Lie Hassan I, our beloved but controversial kaiser, said: Babhka is the land of the Shah, so he mustn't be citizen BUT that means the people can't take his property away either.
I don't know much about the Babhkan laws, but that's what I think about it.
