and comparing the Mango Map to MCS map, most of Western Comstockia seems to be green, as well as a bit of Auxere, Lothlaria, but that bit has no coastline.

Where was the Duchy of Antica?

Not Commstokia please, Novatainia is planning to claim there (when I say planning, I mean we have city names, descriptions and a terrain map for it already, but because of Gralan issues we have to wait for Alexandria to sign a treaty on another part of the claim and they're taking forever ...)
You're welcome to try Lothlaria though ...

That's a reason why we need a Commonwealth Secretariat. We could deliniate spheres of influence, and all that.

I was just noting the unclaimed bits of the Mago Map. We need to digest Absentia, of course.

Speaking of Absentia
Hey, all those Micras-savvy- what happens now? Do we need to push any buttons, our is the annexation on autopilot?

Ideally, you should name those cities ... but then it's on autopilot.

On this topic, Matbaa has been declared dead on the MCS. Not that that's a matter of much happiness for us, except that (oh joy and delight) they occupy the other half of the island of Mar Sara ...

Though you might like to know that ... :document

I'm looking through in my efforts to reconcile Gralan history with Micran/Shirithian ... and I notice that on the very first map ... Shireroth owns part of Tapfer. See there at the bottom there. And it's currently unclaimed. Well, the question naturally arises ... should this be on the Mango Map?

It's marked as "Shireroth and surrounding territories", so I'm not sure... especially since I have no recollection at all what significance that area has in our history (I was in Jasonia back then and thought of Shireroth as a strange far-away nation of bad spellers)

Ah, back in the days when FIoJ ruled the earth ...

Do you happen to have any of the details of your immense City of the Sun research, or is all that possible information nicely summarised in the solaral wiki?

I don't have the details, and if I did, I'd rather get rid of them. The quality of the work I did there is... well... inadequate.

This post kind of belongs in a different thread, but I decided to put it in here because this is where the matter came up...

---

I still feel I owe Zindaria a story after they put a city named Dolphin Bay on Solaria Island. I mean, as far as I know, it is a coincidence, but I must say it is an especially tasty one. They were asking for archeology and bad science fiction, and when I first heard of it I did try to come up with something.

Unfortunately, I never could. With the enormous amount of detail around Soloralist history that I never assimilated, the history that I'd forgotten, the people from that time who were still around and would definitely see if there were inconsistencies in whatever I'd write... everything I thought of seemed either too boring, too cheap, or too likely to stomp over canon.

For what it's worth, the original story of the Audente research team in the City of the Sun was meant to be a pretty basic piece of transhumanist fiction. The place seemed to be in ruins and everyone seemed to have died, but actually they all had just been destructively uploaded. Oh, and the jungle was a computer. I think. Anyway, they felt regret over having given up their bodies for some reason that I can't quite remember.. maybe they were trapped in the city now? Or it might have been that the uploading was not voluntary... it's all pretty well mixed up in my head by now.

Fascinating. Obviously the City of the Sun later evolved into the place where 10 000 Microns are held in stasis ...

And I totally get the Dolphin Bay reference now ... :D
