B'Caw's opinion...

Posted: Fri Feb 22, 2008 4:25 am
by Maksym Hadjimehmetov
First Acolyte of B'Caw, Priest Maksym, dons his ceremonial robes, and spicy sauce and chicken wing bucket in hand, ceremoniously approaches the shrine to His Crispiness to the solemn sounds of Gregorian-style chanting.
Turning around to address the congregation, he showers blessings of Pimento sauce across the altar and begins the incantation in a low voice.
The holy mantra is repeated by the entire congregation 'Nandonandonandonandonando', and as the chanting reaches a crescendo, an eerie red light can faintly be seen from the back of the shrine. Stretching his arms out wide and basking in the growing red light, Hadjimehmetov chants along with the now entranced congregation as spicy sauces leak over the marble steps of the altar. Just then, a deep, low voice can be heard from the altar and cryptic clucking sounds- like that of a chicken- are carried on the wind which now rushes around the temple, setting out the candles.
The wind becoming a gale, Hadjimehmetov screams over it to make himself heard to His Crispyness
'Your divine and supreme Crispyness! We children of the spice who are not worthy enough to nibble the blessed pimentos are lost and in our ignorant folly plead for your help!'
The red light continues to glow, and pimentos spew out of the shrine at a rate of knots.
'Your Crispyness!', Hadjimehmetov continues, 'who do you deem to be the ordained Kaiser of Shireroth after the death of His Niftiness Mors V?'
There is a long pause. The spicy sauces and pimentos cease for a few seconds and the wind dies down. From the depths of the cave behind the Shrine, there is a small, contemplative cluck.
At that very moment, the Shrine glows bright, bright red and it rains chicken wings over Shireroth for the next couple of hours. The voice screams out excitedly one word before yielding...
'JAYATAAAAAAAR!'

Summary: Even B'Caw, in his Crispy wisdom, knows Jayatar I to be the true Kaiser.

I think it ill becomes B'Caw to politicize his message.

Since when is it the initiative of gods to meddle in the world of mortal men?

His Crispyness is not meddling at all. He is merely making his opinion clear- something which will of course have to be taken into firm consideration by all good Cedrists.

Dangerous ground, my friend. Do you think I would have ascended the Mango Throne without a vision from my , granted in private devotion?

Wilt thou provoke a war of the Gods for the sake of a lost Babkhan?

No. But B'Caw is so sure that his candidate for Kaiser will do well that he is not afraid to show his support in front of a huge congregation.
How do you know your particular deity wasn't lying so as not to hurt your feelings? ;)

Well it's already been said that Jayatar's naming of Sakat's High Priest as his Eminence has favoured the god towards him, but I think that, because his huge plan for Shireroth includes a full researching and writing up of Shirithian History, Sakat could do naught but support him with open tentacles ...

realistic or not (i mean, when has any of this been realistic HA!) i do beleive that blatant use of B'Caw, or ANY deity for personal or secondary advancement is uncouth, unprofessional and perhaps even sinister in a priest. High priest, acolyte, friar, or otherwise.

Now, if the post was in jest, i apologize if i've offended, but i dont find it amusing.

YES! i know i use b00/\/\ism and the God Melvin of Sarcasm as little fun flavors, but i always felt that i portrayed their aspects mysteriously enough that if a REALLY serious event was under question (that wasnt obviously a joyous one, i.e. blessing kaisers, weddings, returns of Elders) that interpretations could be vague and/or comforting so as to lend some . . omniscient properties to the beings.

drat, now i went off on a tangent and dont remember where i was going . .

but what i want to submit is that "Gods" of our pantheon shouldn't be used so frivolously and . . well, as propaganda tools. They should be revered as the supreme beings we hold them as.

I know i might sound preachy or even going a lil over board with our fake gods, bu this is just how i've viewed the religion of Cedrism and will continue to "worship" with the b00/\/\.

I dont think less of you as a servant of B'Caw, or at all, for that matter, i just dont like this post. boo-hoo, i got it off my chest.

Yes, realistic was probably a bad word (I'm not thinking in English today, my parents have me translating German here and there...), but that was my general thinking, Mr. H47.

Details, details. Remember, History that isn't written by Sakat is written by the winners, and minor details like name changes can be fixed up then ...

Andreas Your Eminence, Shall your weekly missive be delivered via the usual means or wired direct to the account?

I'm not at all happy to see the Cedrist pantheon co-opted like this. The high priest was already partisan when he asked for B'Caw's choice for Kaiser. Of course he would say B'Caw had chosen his favored candidate. That is like playing with loaded dice or marked cards. This decision doesn't seem valid, and should not be taken seriously.

Usual means are fine :demon

Hypatias Mom, I know what you mean. But, this is Shireroth, where the god's wills do count - someone has to have divine approval. Besides, on Sakat's case, I do believe there is valid justification for his opinion ...

Most systems with more than one deity involve conflicts between them, many ending in a Gotterdmerung or a Ragnarok.

(Sigh) :no
