A minor confession and a request

After Maksym mentioned Malarbor's opinion on the civil war in the
post in which he blew up, I decided it's finally time to come out with this. I don't do recwars. I don't even follow them. If you're counting competent Shirithian recwar generals, you should pass over me. The only recwar accomplishment of mine that I can remember was bombing Musica in the War of the Wylthean Succession, and that was mostly because the war was about to end and nobody had burned Musica down yet, so
somebody had to do it. I haven't read most of the Sightseeing thread, only skimmed over it occasionally.
As such, since I'm currently the only one updating Malarbar, you don't really see timely recwar news reporting in it. Actually, for what it's worth, you don't really see any kind of timely news reporting in Malarbar - I have problems being witty the way you need to be to impersonate Malarbor. Therefore, my request is that someone kindly step up and help me update Malarbar more often, with news that people who actually are interested in recwars (or in timely news reporting in general) will appreciate seeing up there. Scott, I'm looking at you. benkern, I'm also looking at you, though in your case it's mostly because of the Periodic Spore

. I'm also looking at everyone else except maybe the citizens of Lesser Zjandaria, who'd probably be a little bit too eager to make use of the capability...

Yeah, Malarbor hasn't said much for a while, either...
War of the Wylthean Succession? You see, we need more ShireWiki articles on these things! If anyone wants to join me on writing a monster article for this war, please do.

The war itself or my bombing of Musica?

The war itself. Now that you mention it, I do remember you bombing it for anarchy's sake, keeping a very Yardistani tradition intact.

* nods *
Just so we're all on the same wavelength here, there
is a ShireWiki article on the war.
* reminisces... ahh, to fight alongside a Babkhan to endorse James instead of Scott as Kaiser! To be a Yardistani and burn down Musica! To use the name of the man who founded the municipality I was born in for a character! If only I were still as unreasonable and random these days... *

Booo! Be more random. It's fun to be unreasonable too. About anything.
I take offense to the fact you're not unreasonable! I declare war!

Musica must be statistically the worst place in Shireroth to live. How many times has it been blown up?

I've had a crack at blowing it up in this war as well. Should be nice and crispy there now.

The insurance rates in that town are so high, that people don't even bother taking out a policy anymore.

I think we should rebuild it underground, so that at least Ardy has to use expensive bunker-busters.

*Ponders*
I'll just bomb the entrances! Sure they may be fortified and concealed as well but I'll happily fire off as many as it takes

I just tried my first update since the redesign, and I'm having some trouble - particularly, the <p> tag no longer seems to work, and Malarbor's image seems squashed in the R-L direction.

I think that'll be Ari changing the image width for that avatar last time...

I think so too, but I can't figure out where the settings for the Malarbar are. I think they might be in a script somewhere on the site or something.

Yeah, I'm fairly zealous about having the width and height of images in the HTML, but it'd get somewhat fiddly to automatically update the template file the Malarbar is drawn from, so, well, the width and height are now there in the template. I could take them out, in which case Malarbor would never get squashed, but it would make forum pages move around as the image is being loaded (since browsers won't know how big it is before they actually load the image).
As for the matter of <p> elements... hm... we'll see what I can do about that.

* shrugs in the general direction of the <p> elements - it seems to me you already had them working... *

Ari, on my computer at least, there aren't any line breaks in between the paragraphs on the bar.
EDIT: Tested it out, and I get the usual breaks with two <p> elements. Odd. But I can live with that. Tell me if right now the breaks look twice as big as normal to everyone else.

Ohhh, now I see what you mean. Essentially, <p> works like <br> here for some reason, right? I think this will have to be fixed in the stylesheet...
