Just wanted to wish you all a happy Christmas. I've travelled up to my parents', so I won't be too active around here the coming days. But have a great Christmas
Tomorrow's when we'll celebrate it, starting off with traditional Swedish dishes for lunch, such as "Janssons frestelse" (a gratin of potatoes and sprats and cream), meatballs and sausages. We'll drink julmust (tastes really funny), maybe some Swedish cider (made from apple or pear wine, sugar and carbonated water). Our presents are to be handed out once it gets dark (which will be rather early, maybe 4 o'clock)...
We'll probably be watching Donald Duck this year again... It's a Swedish Christmas craze. *sighs*

Merry Christmas, everyone!
And Happy already-passed Hannukah to Bayen and other Jewish micronationalists!
And does anyone actually celebrate Kwanzaa?

Who wasn't even born on that day...
I hope everyone has had a good Saturnalia and that you all have the very best Dies Natalis Solis Invicti tomorrow.

I am aware that December 25 just happens to be the day chosen by the church to celebrate the Lord's birth, and I do choose to celebrate on that day. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas.

Juxtaposed to the wide-spread micronational humbugery (hehe), much gift-wrapping is currently taking place in Fort Benkern. I wish you all a very merry Christmas, be you Christian or of another faith.

Festivus is a much better celebration.
Erik. It's time to celebrate God's best gift to men.
Triple Blade razors?
In Babkha we traditionally lock doors and put sand bags on the roofs of our houses waiting for "Babki Noel" to arrive. He's the patron warlord of winter and the colors red and white. He doesn't give children gifts or anything but he and his liberation army shell Kamalshahr City for 7 nights with a directed artillery strike every year. Babkhans teach their children that if you find shrapnel in your house the next day its a good omen.

Oh, dear. I'm afraid I haven't heard of any warlord of winter. However, Santa (Father Christmas, Babkhi Noel, etc.) is not exactly the one intended in that quote.

Ah you mean the Triple Blade Razors? Those are surely the greatest gift man has received!

How about in your Christmas pudding? Better than finding a shiny sixpence?

We don't really have an equivalent. To be honest we don't really have a Babki Noel feast either. We have what's known as "The Reckoning" (in translation). Where by the family finally opens the store of home made vodka which is fermented all year long. The Reckoning itself is where the eldest son of the family and the father must drink shots of vodka until one of them passes out or dies of alcohol poisoning. If the son wins he takes his fathers place as Patriarch of the family and the father is cast out of the home. In situations where the eldest son is younger than 5, the alcohol is poured by funnel. This ceremony usually occurs sometime during the 7 days of Babki Noel (person and event).

Triple Blade Razors truly were a wondrous gift given to man.. and it does seem fitting that we have such a holiday to honour them...
