A proposal for subdivision forums

Andreas asked for every county in Kildare to have its own subforum... I'll do that soonish, but I'm wondering about the proliferation of forums on the front page. Thus, I'm proposing to increase the consistency and limit the visibility of the County subforums: All subdivisions of any sort get a forum. All Duchies, Baronies, and those Counties that have a Count have their forum directly visible from the forum front page. However, the forums of those Counties that do not have a Count are only visible from their immediate parent forum.

So, just as an example ...
In Brookshire Modan-Lach and Syrelwynn would be on the front, other ones in Baronies if his Niftiness divided it into Baronies.
And in Kildare, all the counties would just be subforums in their Barony (as the ones already there are now)?

Exactly...
... Brookshire really needs some baronies, BTW

Didn't Brookshire steal- er, "legally acquire" enough Baronies from Vorpmaal?! :P

We gave it back...
Monty Crisco would also be visible.. as it's my personal County...

I guess we have general agreement...
* starts adding counties (after he's checked through the rest of the new posts) *

I'll log the changes I made here so you can easily check I didn't miss anything...
Duchy of Brookshire:
- added County of Amarr, no Count
- sorted the Counties alphabetically after realising I'd probably mess up if they weren't sorted
- added County of Highpass, no Count
- added County of Thanatos, no Count
- gave Yvain mod on Syrelwynn so I wouldn't forget
- added County of Shimmerspring, no Count
- added County of Lywind, no Count
- added County of Caverden, no Count
- removed Woodshire from forum front page
- added County of Crestfall Downs, no Count
- removed Alexandretta from forum front page
- removed Lower Lunaris from forum front page
- removed Upper Lunaris from forum front page
- removed Elsenar from forum front page
- added County of Ran, no Count
- added County of Holwinn, no Count
- added County of Goldendown, no Count
- added County of Asantelian, no Count

Also on Brookshire...
- realised I'd missed Benacia, removed it from the forum front page
- realised I'd forgotten to make Syrelwynn visible, fixed

Onto Froyalan...
- renamed the Boreal-Elwynnese Duchy to the Duchy of Froyalan (we'll need a new banner...)
- realised I have no idea which Barony which County should belong to...
- also realised that I have neither the heart to create a new completely empty forum for Hyperborea, nor the initiative to bring it back from the archives

Actually, I think I have the initiative after all. It doesn't really make any sense to have a subdivision that's half archived and half "new"... so, from now on, I'll be bringing archived forums back into the fold as I go...

There are a couple Archived Kildarian ones ... Gong Li and Norfolk spring to mind ...

Continuing with Froyalan...
- brought Hyperborea back from the archive, removed from forum front page (this is what we call incentive, Scott)
- brought Cimmeria back from the archive
- unlocked Hyperborea (this is what we call more incentive, Scott)
- unlocked Cimmeria and removed it from the forum front page
- sorted Counties alphabetically
- added County of Wintergleam, made visible from forum front page
- considered adding Volsung as a separate County, decided against it
- added County of Bjorngard, no Count
- removed Eliria and Utasia from forum front page
- removed Illumination from forum front page
- removed Lesser Zjandaria from forum front page (but I'm sure Ardashir will be happy to reassert his citizenship)
- removed Íseirdia-la-Vraulalennir from forum front page

Duchy of Kildare...
- added County of Blackrock in Barony of Antya, no Count
- added County of Vervollkommnung in Barony of Antya, no Count
- removed Automatica from forum front page
- removed Schlangen from forum front page
- brought County of South Novi Dalmacija back from the archive to Barony of Lumina's Light, opened, and removed from forum front page due to no Count
- added County of Lesser Attera in Lumina's Light, no Count
- removed Kitanus Fields from forum front page
- North Novi Dalmacija... that's still Hypatia's Mom's personal county, isn't it? I left it unchanged...
... realised I was looking at the wrong map... oh well...
- brought Gong Li from archives to Atterrock (not that there were any posts in there, but the forum *was* in the archive, soo...)
- brought Norfolk from archives to Atterrock
- opened Gong Li and removed it from forum front page
- opened Norfolk and removed it from forum front page
- added County of Melangia in Atterrock... left it invisible on the forum front page, because I'm not sure if Andreas is its count or not
- added County of Raynor Isles in Atterrock
- finally realised that the name is Atterock, not Atterrock, and changed the form's name accordingly

Aaaand Yardistan and Straylight were left as is, Yardistan because as far as I can see... oh, wait!
- added County of Mar Sara to Yardistan, no Count
- not quite sure about Musica. It's Yardistani land, should it be a separate County?
Anyway, as far as I can see all of Yardistan's Counties are already... accounted for... and most of them are even in a Barony, the Holy Lands of Shireroth. As for Straylight... I'll have to spend some time thinking about what's the closest thing to Counts and Barons I might have...

Oh, and I just removed all of the Counties in the Holy Lands from the front page, too...

What about calling them Captains or Chief Engineers just like on oil rigs?

Nah... that's an interesting idea... but I'm already starting to develop... other plans...

Good way of saving space and uncluttering forums, I suppose.
If I make a Modan-Lach flag, will it be put on my county's board?

Ari, can you make me Count of Melangia. The others I'll probably develop but not necessarily be count of ...

Mini-Flags for all!

In fact, if anyone can find flags for subdivisions, I'll be happy to place them on the forum... for instance, I recall seeing the flag of Bjorngard somewhere yesterday, but I was busy with creating forums and didn't remember to put it up in the right place

Yeah, Alexandretta has a flag on ShireWiki. There are a load of unfinished provincial articles there.
