Could anyone with Admin powers change the forum name of "The Boreal-Elwynnese Duchy" to "Duchy of Elwynn" because that is the official name of the Duchy?

I'm going to leave this one to Erik, because... sure, it's in your power to change the name, but Scott's done so much for Hyperborea and for Shireroth that I really don't want to be the one to remove Hyperborea's name completely from the duchies. Just doesn't feel right to do it.

The Kaiser himself named the duchy Duchy of Elwynn see
Imperial Decree #270, for example and the Kaiser goes above all.

I, however, do understand your feelings so we'll wait for the Kaiser.

I call it Elwynn out of habit...
However, to be honest... I personally of the opinion that it would be in the Empires best interest to actually move away from the use of names taken from Warcraft... ie... renaming Brookshire, Elywnn, Goldshire and Khaz Modan... somehow... The problem is that these names are so ingrained into our culture and history that it would be.. difficult to do this... Especially for Brookshire and Khaz Modan...
Perhaps if a rename is required by some, a move to the outright adoption of Hyperborea as the Duchy name. Thus giving us the Duchy of Hyperborea... once again. Failing that, another name can be used, including the present.
What are the actual wishes of the Duke in this matter? With out regard to any things I may have said, or am saying.

If it were up to me I'd just call it Borea-Elwynn (which I think some have noticed I've already been doing a lot). Elwynn isn't quite appropriate for the reason Erik mentioned, and I don't think the Duchy of Hyperborea would be appropriate either - there's so much in Elwynn that people like Ric and Ardashir have done that I don't want to hide its name...

A Fair point... But I await the opinion of the Duke on the matter. I have the power to do this but I don't want to step on his Noble privileges..

I would like the name of the Duchy to be Elwynn. In the event that the Elwynn is deemed not to be a suitable name for the Duchy by the Kaiser then I will endeavour to find a fitting and proper new name for the Duchy.

Let us say.. I encourage the use of another name at this point... But Duchy of Elywnn will be allowed.

Well, I will come up with some possible new names for the duchy shortly.

Elywnn was actually never a "traditional" duchy... And we need to move toward having our own names for things... I just don't know how cleanly I can rename Brookshire and Khaz Modan...

indeed.... I may leave Brookshire.. cause I've actually see it used as a last name IRL... it was cool... But the others I can't legitimize...

I would like to call the duchy Frøyalan. The new name is derived from Freyja, Norse goddess of fertility, love, beauty, and attraction, war, battle, death, magic, prophecy, and wealth.

The Norse had a goddess of fertility, love, beauty, and attraction, war, battle, death, magic, prophecy, and wealth? Someone needs to warn them
what happens when you combine too many divine magisteria.
How about changing the spelling, but keeping the pronounciation the same? So that Elwynn becomes Ellwin, Khaz Modan becomes Cas Modan, and so on. That's what I do when I feel guilty about stealing names.

You simply get a divine all-in package. Handy and efficient.

* seconds both the Frøyalan idea (although it might be a good idea to come up with a spelling that's easily typeable on an American keyboard layout), and the alternate spellings idea *

Then I'll change the new name for the duchy to Froyalan.
