A strange way of saying "the study of micronations".

I've always called that "you know that thing when you think about micronations and what they're about and that, and how you can apply that to the past and the future of the hobby".

Well, pretty much, yeah. The general idea sprouts from Isaac Asimov's Foundation series - look at the past, compare it to the present, and the future is presented to you. Then try to take advantage of your superior knowledge! Bwa ha ha ha ha! No, there's no real advantage, because there is no clear pattern yet... though I am looking into that. You've just gotta bear in mind that there are too many variables at a close level, and only at sector-wide level can you predict the future.

I think if I was going to call it anything I'd call it "Micronational Science".

Side affects include being turned into a nutter though, and having the compulsion to tend the garden in the Apollo Foundation.

Yep! I think the vast majority of micronationalists do it to an extent.
