Regional Unit formation

Is it within the powers of a count of a county to raise a few specialist regiments of soldiers from the local populace and form them into local units and regiments?
I'm quite keen to form some special local units for Lach-Modan, and design uniforms, insignia etc for them. Then, I'd probably command them in a RecWar :)
Is this acceptable? Or are things done another way around here? :document

Delicious!
I'll get back to you when I've finished and post all unit specifications and designs here as well as on my regional boards in Modan-Lach. Probably they'll be a mechanised division, maybe with some tank support.
How many active personnel usually command Shirereithan forces in a RecWar? Playing as a superpower in micronational recwar certainly sounds fun (all my experiences with RecWars whilst in Matbaa weren't too great).

Yeah. Most/all subdivisions have a militia of some kind, organized in various ways and such...

Monty Crisco uses Para-troops...

These units are often/usually separate from the main military... Think of it as the Nobles personal military forces.. while the regular army answers directly to the MoMA and thus the Kaiser...

However, Militias aren't usually used outside of internal recwars in Shireroth. Civil wars, rebellions.. etc.. Because of laws on the books preventing any citizen from engaging in foreign military actions without authorization, it rare that the militia are used outside the border of Shireroth. When they do though, they often are joined to the Regular Imperial Army and sent off under the command of their noble.. Count, Baron, Duke..

The size of the force usually depends on the size of the subdivision...

But if we're fighting under SNARL, its more on the number of fighters in general ...

SNARL? Is that still around?

I'm not sure if anyone's actually done anything with it lately, but there's no reason we couldn't use that ruleset if we felt like recwarring...

Very much so. Despite their being a new MRWS ruleset, all recent wars are still in SNARL because it's just so much easier ...
Except some of the unit values have been tweaked ... instead of working from 25000 troops (plane = 1000 etc) they now work off 5 points, ship = 1 point, Plane = 0.1 (yes, they halved their value) etc ... but it's basically SNARL.

Out of curiosity, where might I find the current SNARL charter?

So I can have an aircraft squadron again?

I think on practically every recent recwar's boards, the SNARL charter can be found.
The Landingberg War, Circum-Reynor War, and War of Matbaic Liberation were all done through SNARL- as you said, it certainly is much easier.
Am designing snazzy, over-decorous uniforms as we speak- probably Modan-Lach will have Hussars and Cossacks.

That's the SNARL ruleset. I believe SNARL was heavily modified for the War of Broken Pottery though, wasn't it?

War of the Broken Pottery... that was pretty crazy. And bloody annoying Matbaa didn't gain anything because of it. Then it was followed by the War of Matbaic Liberation. Glorious stuff, that ;)

Oh, the first of my county's regional units- The Brookshire Hamlet City Guard- is now up in the forum :)
