For the site. It'll go down in proly 24 hours.. maybe a few more days.. I don't know..

We need to get all info off it NOW. This includes the Wiki.. it'll die at the same time. If you got email with shireroth. it'll die too...

I'm backing up the entire site as I type.. but I have no idea how to backup/export the wiki..

I'm not grabbing Email... so that's up to you.... (which will make me very depressed as it forces me to go through stuff I don't want too...)

I'll save as many wiki pages as I can for you- it's in everyones' interest to save all that work. Have you backed up the forum yet?

i've saved many wiki pages... but the wiki's dead now anyway...

The site is going down because I'm not paying the renew... as I told people long ago I wouldn't.. so it was on their heads to find a new solution, or take over control of the site from me.. no one ever did either... and I'm still not going to pay for the stie.. so.. it goes bye bye.

I DLed the wiki pages that were on the site... The raw data.. I have no idea what this does.. but I have it...

The forum should be ok.. cause it's not on the Shireroth.org server.. btw.. we have Shireroth.org for another year...

So, how much does the site cost for a year? To whom do we pay it? And is there any grace period to deal with this? How do we contact the site host to pay him/her?

As it stands.. I'm the only one set to pay.. aplus.net is our host. I think it's about $120 a year... I'm not sure how much time we got... I can't find an exact date...

Can't you just keep the .org and move the site to a cheaper host?

Well, depending on what you're hosting the site as, the host will either only offer redirection in the first place, in which case you'd do that via the control panel; or, if it's still got webspace (with PHP & MySQL capability (you don't need CGI to run the mediawiki software)), you can choose either an HTML META-tag redirect:

What is the name server for forums? I wanna link the Shiroth.org name to the forums till we get a solution up... But I have nothing but a domain name control panel now.. and the ability to set the name server... So.. who has the servers for the forums?

And yeah.. can fix the issue with logins and stuff when it comes to posting? I still get dumped to the forum index alot.. (and this account doesn't keep track of new posts for some reasons...)

Erik, do you even have the password for the site? We wouldn't want to try to pay money to renew the site if we can't change anything on it.

And if you want, I have loads of extra capacity on my website, http://www.raikoth.net. It's got PHP and probably some other things I don't know about.

The is a copy of your site on internet archive from April of '06, if that helps.

Wiki articles for the most part seem to be accessible through Google, at least now. I copied most of my stuff to the mnnwiki, and to the "Elopedia Cyberatica" forum.

I got the entire site before it went down. I have FULL access to the old site stuff now... I got the passwords and numbers and things... but all it does now is give me access to the domain stuff.

Ok Scott... I need a few things from you then..

1. I guess FTP access or something...
2. Is it possible to ask your host how to link a domain name to your space?

And see if you have CGI and all that...
