We know we love them really
I'll start with mine:
http://www.new-empire.com/josh/desktop.png
it's packed, it used to have a background till a faulty game changed the resolution and killed it...

It screams, "Clean me up already", especially to the left.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.txt, _____2.txt, _____.txt and todo.txt are all random accumulations in text files of things I deem important. So important that I never really look at them anymore.
And since it's probably the only thing that will raise eyebrows, "Transexual Empire" is the name of a myspace friend - sorry to burst anyone's bubble.

He has the habit of deleting his myspace profiles every once in a while, which would make all his messages to me spontaneously combust, so I save all of them into a folder.
Hm. I think I'm going to clean up now.
Anyway, I actually had a different background image - a NASA colour-corrected image of Saturn - but it just didn't make a good background image, if you know what I mean. Awesome picture, just not fit to excite the eye even with icons scattered across it.

You don't need server space.
Try this.

Very clever
I would do that, but this desk is so unstable, the photons would make it colapse...

Bah, Bayen, you made me think spangle was actually posting in Shireroth (I've been trying to... convince him...)
Anyway, my currently populated virtual desktops:
http://omploader.org/vOTRw/screen-1.png - not doing anything productive, so not running emacs (which usually goes here)
http://omploader.org/vOTRx/screen-2.png - checking up on posts, less on email
http://omploader.org/vOTRy/screen-3.png - I managed to kick Dwarf Fortress for now, but I'm still on their IRC channel
http://omploader.org/vOTRz/screen-4.png - checking IRC logs for a post in Straylight
http://omploader.org/vOTR0/screen-5.png - been holding out on updates for way too long
http://omploader.org/vOTR1/screen-6.png - don't have much christmasy music, but what I have is of excellent quality
http://omploader.org/vOTR2/background.png - my desktop background (this is what I see when I log in and type startx)

NICE!
I'm kind of new to Linux, so I really don't know how to do much with the command line... (yeah, move around files, start up an application, set environment variables - but that's about it! o.O)
But yes, virtual desktop power! Right now I only have up a 4-tab Firefox, but that's just because I only now turned on my computer. Once I get some chat going, perhaps some Python programming (or if I must, Java

), emails, feeds, music (last.fm!! legal music for cheap people!), and if I had any, homework...
Linux = ADD's best friend ^-^ (or worst, depending on how you see it....)

Yeah, boring. That's what makes it the win.

But you wouldn't believe how hard it is to find a good picture of that big Jesus statue in Brazil.
Most exciting thing going on there is the hilarious renaming of Mozilla Firefox. I LOL'D!
Hey, just realised I'm working on 800x600... woot.

This is my current desktop background. I think it's one of the most awesome photos ever taken.

Linux? Delicious, whoever that was. I'm a great fan of Tux.
Sadly, I don't know where i found the picture i use for my desktop background.
I could just take an actual picture of the top of my desk, but that would be as bad as responding '1024 x 768' when someone asks me what my
New Year's Resolution is

Nieke--That's an absolutely amazing photo of that moth! I haven't ever seen its equal. Oh, btw, Merry Christmas!

And to you, too,
in hopes that you read this before it becomes a pointless gesture. ^_^

Notice how I don't like IE?
Oops... Firefox there is supposed to say "Burning Mammal"...
And yes Bayen, that's the MCM magic Status and Library.

Nieke--Yes, I received your kind wishes at 10:10 PM, so it was in plenty of time to still be timely.
Prodigy--great wallpaper for your computer!
