So... Yes.

I do appear to be back in some way.

No, I won't be extremely active. I am currently working full time, and will be working still part time when School starts again.

No, I'm not seeking the Kaisership or anything like that.

I'm basically just here to get technical issues resolved. Forum and Website. And to perhaps help get a few things moving again... Like the Landsraad.

And it seems that my sudden reappearance has changed the tide of oppinion on the fate of Shireroth in that thread. Harvey is right, that is naive. Nothing has changed since he posted and now. Shireroth is still in the same state it was a week ago. And I'll only be around for as long as I have time, and until my mood takes one of it's historic shifts.

But Scott is right, A Plan, is needed. Things were looking good. With the restoration of the Old Feudalism, and the Duchies. (Elwynn? Really.. Elwynn.. Historic? What about Brookshire.. the FIRST Duchy? or Goldshire? anyhoo...) But now we need to follow through.

This is where we need to get site and forum admin repaired and functional.

I agree about the forums and that.

Me and spangle wil work on foreign affairs, go around telling people that Shireroth's still not dead, and maybe negotiate treaties. The Landsraad and the Kaiseress should get regular updates, and we'll present treaties to the Landsraad. That should get the Landsraad going a bit.

And Elwynn's historic! :-p

I'm kinda wondering how the heck no one could have the website password anymore...Moose and Ari both said they didn't...but SOMEONE has to have been the last person to be MiniInfo. VERY confusing!

And why do the technical issues matter so much? It's not like we were planning to be really active, but technical problems stopped us from doing it.

It's the MAIN password I'm looking for.. not just the FTP access...

Well... if Erik isn't having the Kaisership does that mean Carol is still the Kaiseress?

Interesting...

*ahem* I have a plan!

1. Get rid of so many *blankin* useless forums. Here is my suggestion on what to keep.

~General~
All

~Government~
All

~Ministry Row~
All

~Shireroth City Center~
Get rid of Noble Commons
SSHIT needs to be a sub-forum of MORE
Ditto for the university
Boomist and Multi-temple are put under a ministry to be determined. Possibly Interior
Lukedu center goes into the Shrine of Controversy

This gets rid of a chunk of forum without losing their functions.

~Military~
All go under MoMA

~Subdivisions~
Get rid of all the subforums and funnell them into the dukedom foras.

This eliminates a whole PAGE-worth of emptiness. I might even consider getting rid of the subdivisions alltogether a good idea, which would allow all activity to flow into a smaller gap, making activity look better.

2. Get rid of the Landsraad untill activity improves. This may seem like a drastic measure, but... wait, do I really need to say it? *ahem*

AND/OR

3. revamp the noblehood (needed in any case) and make sure it stays small AND dedicated.

4. Become more involved in the international community. Traditionally Shireroth has been extremely isolationist, but if we branch out and make inroads to other nations, the road just might work both ways, and bring in much-needed activity of some sort.

5. GO FISH!

6. Start writing stories and involving others in that story. They come for the government, stay for the interesting stories. :)

7. Individually, reply to *any* thread, preferably with something relevant, but even a Yardistani style thread will show people that you care enough to check the forums.

Comments?

Agreed.

I plan to have a few treaties soonish. It's not ideal just having them, but if we can start ratifying through the Landsraad rather than through the Kaiseress, it should be a good sign? People might get into the legislative mood.

A good idea. Today everyone's a noble more or less :-p

I've gone visiting other nations. Gotzborg seems really interested now that we've ended our isolationist policy. (Yeah, I've ended it - visits and invitations) I have evebn negotiated with the Grand Commonwealth!

I think getting rid of the Landsraad would be a bad idea now, just because if we had even a little activity, the Landsraad could generate more. What we need to do is fix the nobility (as you mentioned), maybe pare down the Landsraad, and then it should take care of itself.

Also, GET RID OF ALL THE STICKIES. I tend to miss any new posts there are because I have to wade through ten ancient sticky topics to find them.

But yeah, that sounds like a decent start.

PS: Awwww, don't negotiate with the GC! How are we going to encourage activity if we give up our main enemy just like that? It takes years and years to establish a decent hostile relationship, and I won't have you go ruining that with ill-conceived treaties of friendship!

NOOOOO don't negotiate with GC... please

If one of our nice admins (or more) would be so kind as to implement #1 entirely, funnel all subdivision subfora into the duchies, and go through and un-sticky any thread without any posts in the last MONTH, I would be very grateful. The other suggestions are good, but I don't want to implement any drastic changes yet.

You can't put the Booomist temple and the Multi-temple under a ministry. They aren't Government bodies....

Btw... Who's idea was it to make Elwynn a Duchy over the older ones?

It started off with the duchies being in alphabetical order. That was under the reign of Semisa the transvestite. :-p

Your Niftiness:

I have complied with your orders and unstickied threads without recent posts. I have also rearranged the forums as Duke Gregory suggested, with one exception: I mysteriously lack authorization to edit the County of Modan-Lach. Your might order your Minister of the Interior to investigate.

I have also given you administrative power over all forums, but again, I lack authorization to give you full board administrative power. Until this problem can be solved, you may wish to ask your illustrious predecessor for help with any forum changes you need, as she has full administrative access.

Woohoo! People listened to me! I will now do the traditional Yardistani dance de la happiness!

:party

We need to wittle down the amount of duchies, and thus the noblehood. Make it... i'd say 3 dukes are sufficient for our population right now. Ooh! and we can make it under the government because... FLAMING DISTRACTION!

:demon :demon :demon :demon

Did it work...? *shifty eyes*

HAH! I didn't even check how many dukedoms there were now when I posted that. HAH! I are the funny...

Also, we need to switch out moderators on pretty much every fora...
