Milady, Kaiseress,
May I draw your attention to this. Although the Shirerithian fief is not Anglien, but Balduvien, I believe it is important that we have someone in the Upper Crandish Riikstai to represent the interests of our Empire and People.

Yes, sorry about that mix-up. I've issued a correction in Cranda.

I am confused. Did we join an alliance or commonwealth or something?

Again, I urge you, milady, to attend the Diet or send a representative.
I'll give you some background information:
When the Royal Crandish Republic (former duchy of Shireroth as "Arminy") was dissolved, it left three successor states: Upper Cranda, Hurmu and Northworthy.
Upper Cranda's system of government is so that the legislature is composed of the dukes of the state, and one of the dukes (or duchesses) is you, milady. As Kaiseress of Shireroth you are ex officio the Duchess of Balduvien.
Now, being the Duchess of Balduvien gives you political power in Upper Cranda. You may, of course, resign that position on behalf of you and your successors, but I believe that that would not be a good solution.
However, with being an Upper Crandish duchess, certain responsibilities come. I will advise you of them as they may threaten our national security should Upper Cranda ever go to war.
Currently the Diet of Upper Cranda is debating matters of defence, and if passed, obligating in times of war the duchies to raise armies for the defence of Upper Cranda. I believe that should Balduvien ever join a war, that that will of course put the other warring party's attention to Shireroth, and may in that way threaten, as I said, our national security.

Dear Ric--
I appreciate your clarification of this puzzling matter. I was not aware that Shireroth had any dealings or relations with Upper Cranda, or that I was duchess of a Crandish duchy. I shall, as a result of my new informtion, attend the legislative session. Thank you again for your service and timely intervention here.

I hereby resign my post as foreign minister, effective... immediately. That is all.

To the Shirerithian people:
I have resigned the post of Duchess of Balduvien, to which position the nation of Upper Cranda had called me. The message I gave to them is as follows:
'Gentlemen:
Due to the constraints of Shirerithian Law, established well before the time of my reign, I must respectfully withdraw from your Ricstaad because our Laws forbid the Kaiser or Kaiseress from involvement in another country, and from double citizenship. I apologize for the confusion and sudden withdrawal from your deliberations, but must comply with our laws.
I must, therefore, ask for the position of Duke or Duchess of Balduvien to be vacated, and for that position to be filled with another.
Thank you.'
I will, in future, be more circumspect in my intermicronational relationships. Please forgive this lapse of judgment.

I guess it's sort of like how the King of England was also Prince of Hanover, for awhile.
