There are jobs, but none which we can give to a new immigrant of whom we have never heard. If you can wait two weeks and familiarize yourself, we'll get you a county (if you're interested in developing culture, one that isn't too old or historical), and then you can join one of our already-existing Duchies or independent Baronies (join Vorpmadal!), or get together with some other counts and maybe form a new subdivision. But as it is, you'll have to wait. I hope this isn't discouraging, bit it took several months for me to gain any sort of power or influence. You have to make friends with people, use your interests and intelligence to contribute to discussions, and build our society. Help out where you can. Having friends will get you far. As a matter of fact, just to help you along, I hereby declare myself your patron. I will help you advance wherever I can.

Some sort of messenger service certainly helps with that part. We're a community as much as we are a 'nation'. Besides doing the nation thing, we actually know each other fairly intimitely and have learned to love each other.
