Our national candy ought to be Altoids Sours: Mango.
My logic is undeniable.

why altoids sours at all?
I have not seen them mentioned on this board before.
just because something is mango related, does not mean it is shireroth related.

Mmmmm, sour candy...

But why I keep having something called a "Shirepop" entering my mind is beyond me...

Shirepop's are what you get down by the pier after dark. :evil

Good thing you didn't make remarks like that while you were Kaiser! The hoopskirted ladies of foreign realms might have blushed and whispered about our nation behind their folding-fans.

I smarter than that. :angel

*Applauds Gman's foresight*

Speaking of which, maybe that could be your Kaiserial title... Alejian II, the Farseeing! And when people ask how you got the title, we could tell them about this conversation. :evil

I love the name ShireBar!! It sounds like a perfect treat to represent Shireroth. Mango jelly and grannola and nuts--lots of goodies and silly to boot. Let's do it!!

So ,then, maybe:
The National Candy of Shireroth will be the Shirebar.
Its ingredients will be chocolate, granola, mango jelly, and nuts.
Questions: what sort of nuts? Dark or light chocolate? Crunchy or chewy granola?!

Posted: Thu May 25, 2006 5:08 pm
by Ryan
Pecans and walnuts.

Milk chocolate.

Chewy granola.

Sounds wonderful. Maybe someone can actually come up with a recipe for the Shirebar so we can really eat it. And for those of us who cannot eat dairy or chocolate, perhaps one without the real butter and the chocolate. That would be like a jam-filled grannola and trailmix bar.

Gods, if only I had mango jelly, I vould probably do this. I have peanuts here at the house, and granola bars, as well as some chocolate chips I could melt down. (I think I have some orange marmalade, though.)

Paraphrasing the original Mad Hatter, "We're all nuts (the original reads 'mad') here!" I think the Shirebar requires nuts to reflect the citizenry of Shireroth.

what about smooth peanut butter?

I wish I could get reeses peices in this country..
:(

They don't sell Reeses pieces in England?

Posted: Fri May 26, 2006 8:53 am
by Conglacio
no. or atleast, not in derby.

there are other reeses products available at a shop in the university, not the peices.

Reese's Pieces aren't sold that much around anywhere these days. Mostly it's just the peanut butter cups.

A ShireBar version with peanut butter wouldn't be bad tho...
