Shireroth Article in Lovely Newspaper

I owe a few favours to the Editor of Lovely's main newspaper the Guardian Angel, she wanted someone unbiased to introduce the Lovelians to the outside micronational world.
I didn't have much time so I did an article on Shireroth given my recent encounters with you, it's not much of a description moreso a brief history with the location to your forums given the five minutes I had to write it.
The people there are usually involved with themselves and don't care much about other micronations however this seems to be designed to alleviate their xenophobic fears and get more of them involved with outsiders.
The publication has just came out and literally everyone in Lovely reads it, there's a direct link to your forums there, perhaps this may be the thing that gets your activity back up to what it used to be.
When they realise how old and powerful you are they'll respect you immediately, I suggest some of you go to Lovely and introduce yourselves formally, it's always a good place to comb for micronationalists when activity is down.
Anyway just thought you'd like to know and hope you appreciate it as a gift.
Regards,
President of the Confederacy of Imperial States
(we've united and changed our name)

Very, er....lovely. It's pretty cool, I suppose, that we have an article in Lovely's newspaper, but if you ask me, the only reason Lovely is so populous and so well known was because it had that BBC special. (This is the Micronation I'm thinking of, isn't it?)

Well, duh.

At the same time it's nothing I would put down, either, celebrity or not, it's still a huge micronation by our standards.
Thanks, uh, President? Pah, can't you get a better name than "PresidentoftheCIS"?

Really appreciate it.

Well yeah it should be Emperor now I just haven't got round to changing all my accounts.
But what Baldwin said was true, Danny's not a very good leader and wouldn't have got where he was without the BBC.
The majority of them don't really think themselves as a micronation per se and that's one of the reasons why they can be so introverted. However there are others (like myself) who inevitably went out into the larger micronational world.
But yeah, their size means they deserve a lot of respect, they're nowhere near as active as the old days and there are a lot less citizens who have loose ties with more of the hardcore Danny worshippers taking up all the jobs. Still, a very good place to rake out wanderers.

President, are you Zayd al-Ayin, who the guy from Matbaa said will be resigning soon? If so, let me express my regret at the CIS losing you.
Perhaps you could help clear up a few things first. We consider the CIS our main ally in the Lovely Sector, and we're a little worried about some of the other nations. I know there are a lot of countries there that you're unfriendly with, and I want to make sure we don't accidentally sign a treaty with any of them. Can you tell me (send me a PM if you don't want it public) which are the countries that CIS is currently unfriendly with, and maybe explain a little more about your group of nations so I can try and get a foreign policy going with regards to them?
Thanks.

Many thanks for your appreciation guys, I only commit my allegiances to Shirerothians for the honour and intelligence I see in you all.
I'm not sure exactly when I will be resigning but it will be after a few more internal reforms, I would also like to cement an Alliance between Shireroth and the CIS before I leave.
We're unfriendly with a lot of nations but they're all one man nations in the Lovely sphere who have become jealous of our success and amount of territory on Micras.
These nations have turned into the 'cwom' who seem to be trying to confront our power on the Eastern side of Micras however they're breaking to bits faster than an British made car and a few of them have expressed their wishes to defect to our side. Their leader is also extremely paranoid and the to the best description as gone 'insane' as many beleive he's created a terrorist organisation designed to destroy the cwom itself.
As you can see they're incredibly volatile and the CIS has attempted to distance itself from them as much as possible many times but their people and interests seem to follow us about and use our forums. Currently they're obsessed with the thoguht that we're mounting some sort of massive invasion plan although why they think we'd want to take their meagre land on Micras when we can just apply for so much more I don't know.
The only other real nations we have bad relations with are Paulovia and Treithar not so much Treithar itself but moreso it's leader however things seem to be improving.

Yeah, Graius can be a little caustic at times, but as soon as he figures out you're not one of those one-man nations he hates so much he'll probably get off your case.
Anyway, good to know you'll be around for a while longer.

Leave the nice people alone Saz, They have been good enough to let us visit their beautiful micronation and we oughtn't abuse their hospitality.

Just to bring this thread back on topic, I thought I'd add the link to the archived issue with the article in question

It's under the "Foreign Affairs" section, on page 5. Yep, it's a PDF I'm afraid...

I wonder why? Maybe if Kieran actually let people listen to the shows we record for Radio Lovely then it'd be better. I co-hosted five hours of shows back in January & February, but only the first appeared.

I've had personal issues regarding that "area" for a while now... so you won't find me defending it

Well, I host KZFO, the radio show for this sector you're in at the moment. We have about 1,117 listeners, and distribute our radio show through a
podcast, which is easier than constantly checking that annoying player for a new episode, and you can listen to the episode wherever and whenever you want.
If you want, we would love to host and distribute your show over our network. We don't get much information out of Lovely, and would love some more insight into that sector.
If you're interested, email me at

That's perfectly fine by me. In fact, if there are any other fed-up Lovely broadcasters, feel free to let them know too.

Hey ID, hey Saz, how's it going, my goodness, you weren't joking about that tour of the micronational world.
It's a good thing, more people will see how lovely Lovely people are (and perhaps adopt our strange ways of *action posting* - I don't think they caught on in the MCS).
*Crosses back over the Shireroth border into the CIS*
*Shouts across border*
"Hey, while you're in the neighbourhood, why don't you check out the CIS, a few of us old revolutionaries hang there, it's one of the busiest forums and full of new and interesting people from all over the micronational world"

Would it be ok if I wrote about our visit to Shireroth in a sort of Tour Diary article for the Guardian Angel?
I don't want to be accused of spying or whatever so I thought I'd best ask first.
