Micronational Novella

Seeing the success of Scott's book, I'm thinking of writing one of my own. Rather than a history book of actual micronationalism, I'll be writing about a fictional micro-nation.

Any ideas or suggestions are worth a mention in my acknowledgements page.

Hmmm...now that's interesting. Most of the micronational fiction that I have seen have been attempts to translate the micronational world into reality (for example descriptions of recwars where they're fought with real ships and all). I assume you're not thinking of something like that, since to do that with a fictional micronation would be exactly the same as standard fantasy. So are you going to do something like an story about people trying to start a micronation? That would be very original, and it would be an impressive accomplishment if you could keep it interesting.

Hear, hear! You have my support. Know, however, that I don't carry very much clout around here. I would look forward to reading such a novella, though.

Yeah, I decided to opt with a more realistic viewpoint. The story should be quite entertaining, but it's not all going to be troop movements and victory parades. It's going to be like what would happen if one of us average Joes in real-life ever got lucky enough to be able to make a micro-nation, did it out of heart and noble purpose, and saw it successful. That's what will happen in my story, although I have left some major details and a certain plot twist out. I hope that micronationalists will be pleasantly surprised at the harsh realities of nation building but will be forced to think in new terms about their most favorite hobby.

When is somebody going to finish and publish "The Burning Sands of Tashbaan" and "Apocollapse Now"? I'm serious, I would spend money on those.
