That is to say, meet online--via an IM service--at a predetermined time once or twice a week and play D&D, as run by me?

Well, to those without it, I can provide the corebook in .pdf format.

...Either that, or hop on to your friendly neighborhood file sharing program and look for the Dungeons & Dragons 3.5 edition corebook, frequently abbreviated to D&D 3.5e Core or some such.

I've got a rather intensive plot already lined up. When are people available?

Can't participate, but those of you who haven't played before will find this helpful (everyone else probably will, too).

The chances of me ever being able to make a time are infinitesmally low (something around 10 or 11 EST weeknights would be best) but I am very interested.

...dang. I have the 3.0 corebooks. Well, does anyone know if the differences between 3.0 and 3.5 are too large for playing? If they are, I can just buy one from the store, I guess.

Your books should be fine. Discrepancies will be handled on a case-by-case basis, where my book (the 3.5 book) precludes yours.

Times, people, TIMES. When?

Okay, character creation is a little different. Since I see you guys playing exceptional characters, we're gonna do the following:

Standard character creation says you roll 3d6 for each of your stats. I say, roll 4d6 for each of your stats and keep the highest three. In addition, roll up 8 numbers (instead of the required 6) and keep the best six to place as you choose into your stats.

Let me know when you're done.

Oh, and I'm thinking either Thursday or Sunday nights, either after 7PM PST.

oooh, this is the system i used to use and if you were a n3wb you'd get an auto 18. but yeah.. i'll roll one up soon. lvl 1's and any legal class right? im not sure what i want to play so i'll go off what other people are gonna play. and wheres the world gonna be set?

too many questions at once? groovy. and both nights are good for me, id perfer sun though, i think. and how long would the sessions be?

Level three, actually.

I'tll be set in the Barony of Atarcy, a fictional place that I'm still in the process of creating (almost done, actually).

And yes, all classes are alright. (If you've got the DMG and feel like being an Aristocrat or Expert, those're cool too).

Thursday would be acceptable. Sunday might conflict with my real-life D&D game on a regular basis so we'd have to see.

Won't work, then. You expect me to have sessions more than 2 hours on schooldays for those nights? :p It needs to be earlie than that. Sunday would work if it was earlier, and Thursday is unfortuanatly my heavy day, although I'm free after 6 EST then.

Perhaps Friday nights, during my show then? 5-8 PST?

5-8PST on Friday? Sounds good to me. Two questions:

1)What chat program will we be using?

2)Anyone want to discuss what types of characters they're thinking of creating? Might be a bit awkward if we had three of the same race and class.

How about 6:30-10:30 PST instead?

Sounds fine.

And yes, discuss, discuss. //points at the 400 Wing.

Paladin, of course.

You know, I'd like to create a Micron Race for D&D.

I know, but it doesn't solve my desire for creating the stats in general, anyway. :p

//again points at the 400 Wing.

More than willing to help.

And we'll probably be using AIM, since that's what most people have. I'd like to use IRC, except that 1. I don't think I could find a server for us to use; and 2. I don't think we all have IRC already; and 3. the one reason I'd want to use IRC is for a bot we could use to roll dice right in the channel, instead of rolling dice by ourselves.

You can do it with AIM, too.

Doesn't AIM only roll d6s though? Can it roll d10s and d20s?
