Imperial Decree #214: A Great Many Things

The first thing I have in mind is that we should hold an auction on eBay or the like, and use the money from that to fund a second advertising campaign and the website. I know you all got things you don't particularly like for Christmas; perhaps you can put them to good use now.

Second is that we are all doing wonderfully with the new fora and the New Feudalism. Continue to do so! Some people have been tossed around a bit more than others, but none more so than Scott Alexander, who has been an immense help during the whole process. He is hereby stripped of his powers as Praetor--a job he never really asked for anyway but was in the wrong place at the wrong time--and given the Ministry of the Exterior, the job I know he does best. He is also promoted from a Knight of the Dragon to a Knight-Errant of the Dragon. Yes, yes, I promised a description of the changes to the Orders, and it is yet forthcoming. Patience is a virtue.

Third, I hereby commission Count Greg Dean--provided he has the will and the time--to do a map similar to the one he has created for Florencia for each county that requests it. Of course, he is limited as we all are, so a request thread should be started within the Ministry of the Interior for that purpose.

Fourth, I hereby commission Count Scott Alexander to take any means necessary to implement his gift economy. Both Scott Alexander and Greg Dean are to be compensated by the Throne when such an economy is in place, based on their efforts in the paragraphs above. I also request (but do not demand) that the post-based economy be intermingled with the gift economy if at all possible, at a rate of one erb per post, to ensure that no one may ever be bankrupt.

Fifth, I commission Duke Delphi Augustus to implement a modification to the forums, allowing us to put "wiki" or "mwiki" in brackets around an item, and have it link to an article in the Wikipedia or the MicroWiki, respectively. He too shall be compensated by the Throne for his efforts.

By my hand,

Kaiseress Semisa, the Resurrector: First of the Name

Interesting task, Kaiseress. My attempt with something of that nature once failed, and I had to retract the changes, but I'll see if I can't make this one a bit better. *bows*

I would, of course, be more than happy to work on such maps. And, when the time manages to find its way to me, I will do so. However, as of tomorrow, I'm going to be officially juggling my time between Culinary School, Work, the Comic, and STUDYING for Culinary school.

I'd be able to handle map requests on a first-come, first-served basis, but I cannot guarantee when the serving will be done. I will create a post in the MinInt forum for the purpose of such requests.

Greg, I know this might have been an even better idea had it come earlier, but perhaps you should seek to train someone as an apprentice, someone with whom you can share some of these skills with images (particularly the ones that will be used around here), so that the workload isn't nearly so bad.

A lot of people (Renee comes to mind) said they were going to send you money for the website before Greg came and let us use his. Did they ever get the money to you? If so, how much do you have? Also, why would we do another advertising campaign? You ran the last one really really well, and yd et we only got AFAIK two new citizens from it who actually stayed around for more than a week. If a campaign like that cost $50, twenty-five bucks per citizen seems pretty steep when we could use that money for something else.

Yay! Thank you, Your Niftiness! I do solemnly vow to et cetera et cetera.

We will have to discuss this in person, but I believe mingling the economies is a horrible idea. Further, my plans for the gift-based economy are pretty complex and would not be along the lines of just going ahead and implementing them (you'll see). We can talk more about this tomorrow, but maybe we should start with the post-based economy, see if that works, and if not people will be more willing to give the drastic measures I'm going to suggest for gift-based a try.

WAAAAIT a second. The comics, the radio, the graphics design, Shireroth, whatever else, AND, of all things, culinary school? Mr. Dean, do you do everything

Since we don't need the money for the new fora, I hereby request that the $20 I sent in before (about 2 months ago) be either sent back to me (preferable) or dumped into the treasury for other expenses that might arise.

You can IM or PM me if you need my address. I really would like the money back.

Unless of course that money is part of the $50 still pledged to the Gold community at the old boards.

That money isn't refundable. Regardless if the board is used or not.

And Mr. Dean has OTHER projects as well to take care of. You know what I'm talking about, Greg. :document

I'll teach him how to cook Italian if he becomes really desperate to learn the culinary arts. After all, he's probably just doing it to impress his girl and get some action. :P ;)

In fact, your money was the only I received, Hypatia. PM me a mailing address, and I'll send it back.

Yes, yes. That reminds me, the salve on the whip lashes on my back is wearing off... I should go reapply that. :D
