Veliken War - The Flight Home

((OOC Setup: This happens before the strikes on Gong Li and Destrykara. Action takes place West of Kildare. Norfolk is GH 8ish.))Admiral Draco hopped casually into his Astra Mk II armor and touched the control panel to log coordinates of Dutch Gryphonix Sanctus's silent escort. He chuckled to himself at the notion that it was only yesterday that he had appointed Potak Rulsaki to the post of commander and already he was giving him orders."Pirates," he had told him. Draco wondered if Potak had even the faintest idea of the Kildari defense network. There were no Imperial Fleets about Kildare, and the only "pirates" of any significance in the area were under the direct command of Draco himself. But Potak had only been on the job a day and still had the mentality of a commanded rather than a commander. He was too obedient to question Draco's logic.Or maybe, he thought, as he powered up the airfoil, maybe I intimidated him. The hatch was shut and latched, an automatic motion Draco had trained in his wings, and hooking them back into the steering pads behind his seat, he raised the main control board over his lap and kicked forward to the center pedal. the lower mandible which was serving as a landing foot kicked off and the craft was in the air. He laughed and wondered if that may even have been the reason he was initially placed at his own post.It was a short hop for the quick vessel over the wall of Shirekeep, dipping into Kitanus pool and then bobbing up and skimming short over the Elwynn river toward Kildare. The claw now extended and dragged a path through the middle of the river as it weaved and curved. He decided to take the scenic route, following the river all the way along the Southern border of Lunaris. There was no hurry, as Gryphon's transport wasn't due over Kildari lands for another hour, and the ship Draco had could reach that far in ten minutes. He turned to the first radio channel. The television program suddenly went static as the silent magnetic pulse that was Kitran Ford's alarm went off. He changed the channel by remote just to make sure before setting his armchair back upright and heading off toward the study. It had been quiet on Norfolk for quite some time, so neither he nor his two comrades had anything to report. He depressed the wide button beneath the clunky old-style microphone, disabling the alarm and transmitting his message "negative, sir.""Copy, Strikers. Don't relax yet, though. I may need you in arms to get a back entrance to the area. Stock your transport just in case. Over.""And out, sir." Kitran released the button and stepped out to the deck where his comrades lazed, chewing on long stems of grass. A terrible cliche. They would follow when he moved, however, so he simply headed past them down the steps and toward the nearest artillery stash. Maybe today they would finally get some action.Draco was approaching the mouth at Alexandretta. No activity was reported from Agnigrad to Blackrock Nua. He switched on radio channel 12 and waited for a response. The hydrogen fuel tank was full now and he pulled up and away to avoid an oncoming island. He was in the air now, and the muddy water below was blurring in the distance as he rose to the sky. There was no response. He tapped the pinger to make sure the radio was okay. It was. There was just no connection. The lids of Draco's golden eyes narrowed as he thought angrily how the war might have come right to his doorstep and that he would soon have to take a part in it which he thought he had handed off to Potak. He considered turning around and bringing the entire Kitanus Cat's Paw and fleet back to incinerate the offenders, but then he quickly shot down his own idea. They had a new crew now, under Darkstariel, one who hardly knew let alone swore allegiance to the Admiral. No, he would have to first gain the upper hand, and for that, he needed his base. His base, that was it! Draco slapped his forehead as he recalled. The submarine base at Blackrock was undergoing transport and had to maintain radio silence. That was why there was no response from channel twelve. In fact, they were heading down Antya to meet the Cat's Paw at Nevermore. Calling up the itinerary on the control panel screen, he silently cursed Eros for leaving before completion of the Lukedu Canal.Submarine base far North up the Antya is moving South. Draco and Gryphon are returning to Kildare midland from the West. Draco has an intelligence network across Kildare.*((*: Though the intelligence of this network is questionable ; p)) Heil Loki!!!
