Dual Citizenship Restriction Act

by Shyriath
Proposed by Bill.Be it enacted by the assembled Landsraad Chapter VII, Article C of the Lawbook be changed from this:Quote:C. Dual Citizenship1. Basic Dual Citizenship shall be allowed to citizens of Shireroth.to the following:Quote:C. Dual Citizenship1. Basic Dual Citizenship shall be allowed to be citizens of Shireroth, with restrictions.a. Dual Citizenship is defined as the state of being a citizen of Shireroth and one or more other micronations.2. Dual Citizenship shall be restricted as follows:a. A citizen who is not a Minister or Noble may have only as many dual citizenships as are allowed by the Shirerothian policies of immigration.b. A citizen who is in the nobility or a minister, may have a maximum of one citizenship outside of Shireroth.c. The Kaiser of Shireroth, as is per tradition and written in the Imperial Charter, will freely relinquish all other micronational citizenships upon zir ascension to the throne.3. If a citizen is promoted to a position which limits further limits the amount of dual citizenships, the citizen must change zir citizenships to comply with the new limit.a. Failure to comply with these regulations will result in demotion or disqualification from the position.Let us discuss, shall we? ...I don't see any problem with it myself, save only the wording of 2c... the Landsraad saying the Kaiser is banned from something is a little off. But the intent, at least, is in agreement with established law, since it already says the Kaiser must be a citizen of Shireroth only, so for me it's just a wording issue.Anyone else? I see no problems. Fax's got the edit pretty much down. Add it and then we can start voting. They call it a signature, but no one ever signs their posts...

The Barony of Amity and Mirioth votes Aye (3). There are no flowers, no not this time. There will be no angels gracing the lines, just these stark words I find.

Actually, Oz, the original limit was one citizenship: Shireroth. It was then later changed to two citizenships, and later on changed to three. Viatax Sitadi Axdivijink Regigoraauk

Elwynn and Lac Glacei - Nay (2)It's not that I'm against this act per se, but more that there are a few things I need to sort out in Elwynn (like finding a suitable heir) before I have to step down. If this act is passed too quickly then there will be no one elligible for Baron of Elwynn. And oh, for those of you who don't know, I'm the Baron of Elwynn since Dave decided to leave us all...I just ask that we wait two weeks or so with this act so I can sort a few things in Elwynn. Please? Richard LyonYansha Elaer Kyon gef ShanPernem kahn gef kuymal per varga stiPernem kahn gef varga per kuymal stiEdited by: RicLyon at: 9/21/05 6:07

Or, instead of putting more work on an already burdened load, why not just hold off? We have to stop laying everything on the Kaiser everytime we don't want to do it ourselves.I motion to postpone this for the alotted time of 3 days, in which Ric Lyon will be given these 3 some hours worth of days to get everything fixed with Elwynn.

Postponing the vote the extra days is okay, but the two weeks he asked for is a bit much. Hence my response. They call it a signature, but no one ever signs their posts...

I hope the Praetor agrees. I third.Anyway. Bill - you do realize that by this Act you are in full reality making Ardy the Baron. For he's the only one eligible under this act to be a noble of Elwynn unless new people move into Elwynn.Quite funny, Bill, isn't it? You, of all people, making Ardy the baron of Elwynn I still vote nay to the Act. Richard LyonYansha Elaer Kyon gef ShanPernem kahn gef kuymal per varga stiPernem kahn gef varga per kuymal sti

Actually, I disagree with putting off the vote, when it has already been voted on. I can extend the voting deadline if you like, but there is nothing in the procedures to delay the voting of a bill once voting has started. I suppose you could all unvote (if you can even do that, and that's up to the Kaiser's interpretation), or all vote nay and re-propose this, but otherwise you can't put it off. *throws grenade for the hell of it*BO0O0O0O0/\/\!!!!!!

BAM changes to NAY (3) as well.I want to see a grandfather clause or a clause for Ric on this one, but other than that I like the idea. There are no flowers, no not this time. There will be no angels gracing the lines, just these stark words I find.
