Interesting opinion from abroad...

The Babkhans have been musing on the current state of micronationalism and have come to the conclusion that the two really big and relevant nations these days are Babkha and Shireroth. I think that this is a pretty big victory for us, especially considering how difficult it would have been just a few short months ago to convince the Babkhans that there were ANY big and relevant nations other than Babkha They've also been talking about the differences and similarities between the two of us and what distinctive characteristics we have (Erik would probably not be pleased by the results). If you're interested in "micronational philosophy", I suggest you check out pub48.ezboard.com/fbabkha...2026.topicpub48.ezboard.com/fbabkha...2028.topic

wow... that is Sooo cool... and they have a point... Micronations are turning more into communities than government simulations...Of course, as usual, I am doing my best to keep the political aspect of it alive... and I hope we don't just fall to the category of "community" nor to the category of "political state". I know that we can do both, as we have for ever since I have been here... and I have seen in my day this nation rising to higher levels in both of these classifications. But there always must be a balance, and with such a weight on either scale, the slightest feather could topple it all. I think I shall try to be more careful from now on... Thanks, Scott. All micronations are essentially going the way of Istvanistan. Not in the sense that they're crazy or eccentric or anything but that they've largely broken away from the political element and reverted to communities. It was as a community that Istvanistan proved remarkably long lived (though its probably kicked the bucket as I think the only people who still post there are Spetzjoe and maybe Trevon) and that happened really because there wasn't anything interesting enough to pursue.Micronations still exist, but micronationalism has finally proven to have a limited shelf life after all.

I've long been promoting more community involvement. The Government shouldn't be the focus. That's why I like our system.. We don't NEED alot of people to run things...And.. we arne't Apollo.... I'm not going to go on a rampage about it like ussual.. just gonna say it once.. Kaiser Erik of Shireroth.Duke of BrookshireNot dead yet...

You know whats funny? For awhile I was actually thinking of creating a new micronation to be named the Kingdom of Velika Slavija, with a funky system of government borrowing from all the slav nations. It had a Tsar at the top, a parliament called the Bojarski Sabor, Vojvodes, Bans, a rather unique system of feudal patronage mixed with constitutionality and all sorts of fun stuff.I even went as far as to design a flag (Pan-slavic tricolor with the Russian arms in the center, Zvonimir's crown facing the hoist, and the crown of st. vaclav; each symbol representing one of the three major branches of the slavs, west, south, and east)But then I came to my senses. ...And I can't believe that I'm here to stay......'Cause I never worked it out this way......And I love you more than I can say......But I hate you every other way

I think we ALL have a lot of new micronation ideas that we thought about recently before we came to our senses...or maybe it's just me.
