Remember my plans for the Skyline Awards? A variant of the Norton Awards for our micronational paradigm? Well, I've been working on them more, although kind of out of the public eye. They will be called (since Skyline Awards is a bit too self-promoting even for me, not to mention I no longer work there), the *F*antasy-simulated *NOR*ton awar*D*s, or FNORDs. The committee will consist of:MyselfAbbas NamvariScott NoseworthyWilliam HowardAnd, hopefully, Iain de Vembria, if he agrees, although I haven't been able to find him and talk to him about it. I think that's a pretty good cross-section of micronationalism. For categories, I'm considering something along the lines of:Website PrizeForum PrizePeace Prize Economics PrizeCulture PrizeMicropatriology PrizeMilitary PrizeSurrealism/Insanity PrizeNice, Likeable Guy PrizeOdlum Award For Total Individial AchievementAlso some special joke awards, like my personal favorite to give out to people whenever I feel like it, the Daubler-Gmelin Award for Confrontational Diplomacy. But these won't be official.You will notice that I didn't put any national awards on there. I think that's too dangerous. People would get all upset and old vendettas would start up and such. While I'm sure there will be problems that too many winning individuals are from this or that nation, it won't be quite as bad.To qualify, a person must have done his or her achievement in the past micronational era (after the effective collapse of Tymaria) and must have done it in the MCS Sector (the nations on the MCS Map, plus a few others like Cranda). This is okay even if they are not actually citizens of these nations (I'm thinking of some of the Morovians who have nevertheless done stuff that directly impacts us - but Morovians doing stuff in Morovia doesn't count).What I want from you is a revision of these categories, if you feel that is necessary, and NOMINATIONS! Either post the nominations on this thread or send them to ssiskind@hamilton.edu.
