FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Prince Kieran Prince of Lavalon Principality_of_Lavalon@hotmail.com http://www.lavalon.tk http://www.lavalonforums.tk LAVALONIAN MICRONATION DISBANDED The Principality of Lavalon has been disbanded. I, Prince Kieran of Lavalon, in conjunction with those active citizens of Lavalon decided to re-evaluate the purposes of the Lavalonian micronation, what was being achieved by the Lavalonian micronation and whether considering our goals, ideals, level of participation and achievements was there someway to better pursue these goals and ideals. Our conclusion was that there is and so Lavalon as a micronation has been disbanded and is being replaced by the Lavalon Foundation. I believe that a new, less formal, more flexible, more participatory, more open, more wide reaching, and more durable organization will contribute more to the field of micronationalism and to the pursuit of the goals and ideals of the former Lavalonian micronation. HOW THIS WILL AFFECT OUR CITIZENS The new Lavalon Foundation will operate on an open participation basis; there will be no citizenship/membership beyond those who decide to participate and to what extent they decide to participate. The Lavalon Foundation’s function as a political simulation and discussion will be greatly enhanced by our new non-restrictive and open participation approach. The Lavalon Foundation will be greatly expanded as a Left, Libertarian, Green, and micronational think-tank. Despite the Lavalonian micronations former citizens will officially be deprived of their citizenship, their ability to participate and what they can get out of participation will be greatly enhanced. AFFECTS TO FOREIGN RELATIONS As an NGO we cannot maintain relations in the way a nation could. However our ability to interact with micronations will be greatly enhanced. With no citizenship the citizens of various micronations can participate, and former Lavalonian citizens will be able to participate in (a variety of?) other micronations. This greater grassroots engagement will benefit all. On an official level, I see no reason why the Lavalon Foundation can’t interact with micronations, the focus of interaction and agreements will inevitably be changed, hopefully these will beneficial to all involved. AFFECTS TO INTERNATIONAL AGREEMENTS All treaties and agreements are effectively null in relation to Lavalon. While the letter of any agreement may be null in relation to Lavalon, I believe that the meaning behind the word is not. Allow me to reiterate Lavalon’s respect for all other micronations sovereignty and rights as well as our abhorrence of war. We still have a focus on environmentalism. NOTE ON PRINCE KIERAN I intend to continue using the identity of ‘Prince’ Kieran in order to avoid confusion and so I don’t loose my post count in certain forums. You don’t have top run a country in order to proclaim yourself royalty! (My email is still principality_of_Lavalon@hotmail.com, my other address, Kieran@fuckmicrosoft.com also works but is just a cloak for the former) NOTE ON YAMO’S, MICRONATIONS.ORG AND OTHER We are not attempting to create a YAMO or inter-micronational organization, nor are we in anyway trying to compete with micro-nations.org. For an idea as to what the Lavalon Foundation is please read the mission statement on the website. I hope that this new format will achieve what the former Lavalonian Micronation could not. Maybe when interest in the Lavalonian ideal increases then the narrower format of a micronation will rise as Lavalon again. Thank you.
