I am retired but I am not gone. Like I've said, I'll still be around various fora as often as I have been, I just have no more political ties. Philip Locke, Temporarily Retired MicronationalistStop by Locke's Hole to chat!

Democracy and Shireroth. I think not.

Locke, and any others. Democracy at this juncture in time has no place in Shireroth. SHireroth is NOT a democratic nation.Lemme give you a lil history of early EARLY Shireroth.I founded the RS. Republic of Shireroth. I made sure that it was only used as RS.. and not RoS.... and that has no point here..anyhoo. I founded Shireroth as a direct democracy state. but had no citizens or a good constitution. so I wrote the Provisional constitution. This constitution said.. that the president.. me, was a dictator till a constitution was written or we had 5 citizens. well.. somewhere along the line.. things changed. We got the Kaisership and all this. Now, people found nations on ideals most of the time. FIOJ, Tymaria. Shireroth had the same ideals of the FIOJ. peace and justice and democracy and all that good bussiness. we simply recognized violence is needed sometimes. This too changed. With the Kaisership came a new Ideal.... Survival! I care not about having an idealistic nation. Idealism is great in the begining. give life and energy.. but than it fades.. and hinders you from doing what you need to do..Shireroth's goal is to make a stable government type. ideas be damned! That's how we got the Kaiser. 1 man in charge. very stable. when something needs doing.. it is done. no slow elections. no votes.. bam.. done! But what if that man vanished? like I tend to do...sometimes.. well.. than another body is needed.. the Landsraad. a council of lower leaders. the dukes. When I vanish. they can rule till I return.YOu see? No matter what size the nation is.. it will live. Imperialism came with defence. no one fucked with us. or we moped the floor with them. as hubert learned many times... No. Democracy. There is one thing I've learned about democracy. In the real life it is WONDERFUL, But in micronations it is weak. Locke, you say it will bring activity. yes. you are right... for a time it will.. than it fails.. people disappear. and we are left with a system with no functioning government. jobs not filled. quorums not met. Tymaria, a prime example. This is why democracy cannot, must not, and WILL NOT take hold. It will bring Shireroth to it's knees. Now, if this is what you seek.. You are a fool. For one thing that Shireroth does these days. Keep me inline. I am known for having mood swings and being rash. but with shireroth living I must control myself and not go beat down on people that anger me. But. No Shireroth.. no restraint.Anyhoo. I wanted to stay away for a few more days. but I couldn't leave this on spoken of.now, all bill started up by locke in the Landsraad are to be closed. perminently. I don't like using my power. nor do I like being forced to when I do.... Kaiser of Mors IINow it is time to see how you die. Remember Death is not the end.......But only a transition.

And believe it or not, we ARE a Republic. A constitutional monarchy (yes, that is what we are...) is still a republic... it's just more of an Imperial Republic. And that suits us just fine :) Eros DarkstarThane of Kitanus Fields(Imperial Republic of Shireroth)SAVE THE KIWI!!!

But the benefits can outweigh the costs. In any event, pretty much everyone will agree that Shireroth hasn't ever really been democratic, and that that isn't particularly a bad thing.
