A journey through Elwynn: Part 1.

Elwynn is a big place. It lies between two great rivers, whose nature gives life to the area around them. However, the central parts of Elwynn are more or less dead. Cold deserts is all that would welcome us there. But they tell of stories very much unknown. At the time when I was appointed count of Elwynn, the deserts had expanded much and many people had fled Elwynn – even the Ardashirians! (who had immigrated the lands of Elwynn from Euras). Now the population was very small. Only a few years ago Elwynn has a large number of inhabitants, and Elwynn was styled “duchy”.The duchy had a lively population. Parties and feasts were held all the time, and the indigenous people – known as “elves” – were still living and were the majority. But after the collapse of Menelmacar they seemed to fade away, the last one remaining was Mari, duchess of Elwynn. Now she too is gone. After the fall of Menelmacar, the elven capital of the world, elves literary disappeared. Mari left the duchy, leaving it in the hands of the Ardashirians, led by the Emir of Raspur. They had immigrated from the southern lands of Babkha. This gave Elwynn a new naissance of culture. From now on, all the aspects of Elwynn were Babkhanized. Babkhan formal language was adopted. Zurvan began to be worshipped among the few people left after the disappearance of the elves, and millions of camels were imported from other parts of Micras. The Ardashirians began to change the culture of Elwynn, and this is reflected in the norms and values of the Elwynnese population. The people absorbed Babkhanization so much, that they began to believe that the old population of elves never existed. A mention of elf was frowned upon, and old monuments were replaced with new ones. One day the Ardashirians said that they were going to leave Elwynn. Few protests were heard, and together with them a large proportion of the Elwynnese population also left, many of which moved to Babkha. Elwynn was demoted once again, now it had become a county. When the Ardashirians left, everything official was archived and sent to a secret warehouse in Shirekeep. Only fragments remained of the history of Elwynn, and of the very culture of the land. As most of the population emigrated with the Ardashirians, Elwynn is now an empty land. The old Elwynnese customs were gone, because the Ardashirians and their followers were the only followers of these customs, and therefore they are gone.Elwynn is too empty, I am going to explore the fragments of the past. By my word, an expedition is to be set. I will travel all through the lands of Elwynn, even through the cold desert to discover some fragments of the past. Good job, but a a comment you need to reconcile. (or not. Hehe )The remaining elves not massacred (who's numbers are rising despite Elven difficulty to reproduce...) relocated en mass to Yardistan, specificly Amity, Mirioth, and So Sara. That's because Gman Russell (Duke at the time, and declared enemy of Ardashir's policies) declared Yardistan an Elf sanctuary. So they remain, but they are hidden, for obvious reasons. Hehe.

Didn't I borrow a flying island to export the Elwynn genocide to Amity?

Charasmatic despotism eh? Well it so happens we have a vacancy for a deluded follower if you are interested, once you have finished being Kaiser of course.... though I'm sure the Great Satan would reward me handsomely if you became a devote whilst still on the throne Edited by: Osman Shahanshah  at: 7/26/05 15:23

Apparently these heathen kings can only have one citizenship while being Kaiser.Don't forget the Paladins' building programmes, Ric! There should be a burgeoning Hyperborean-Elwynnese population soon, considering the generous favours of the Elwynnese ladies and the large appetites of men away from home..

That reminds me, I paid 50 for a good rogering, and it was a half larrying at best. With this kind of service, I might just go back to Mondesian escort agencies..

That was a night I'll never forget. We gathered around the campfire where Master Ric was telling his interesting (although hopelessly made-up) stories of his travels in this cruel country. The call for song was thrown up, as the depressing punchline of Ric's story hit us all like a brick in a sock. To the collective horror and amusement of the party, "Inna Gadda Da Vida" was suggested, and to the private disgust of many, it was the Despot of Kamalshahr who staggered to his feet, burping gently, to give us all a Farsi rendition of the song, which had been topping the Babkhan charts for the past five weeks, where Iron Butterfly were making a comeback tour. His voice was an odd mix between a husky baritone and the gargling sound of fifty or so years of trapped alcohol vapour trying vainly to make their way to the surface. Sitting fascinated, I was reminded more of the hooting of a walrus than anything else. Fifteen or twenty minutes into the song, I wondered what Babkhan politicians substituted for the tusk-fighting of the noble walri. After the hour-long pause that is naturally part of the song, and the three minute guitar solo that follows, which the Despot cordially imitated on his ultra-tight trouser braces, the ordeal was over. Our entertainer was congratulated on his feat, and we all went back to Ric's apocralyptic tales of post-colonial woe. Wil Nider to the HyperboreansEoin to the restZirandorthel to the ages
