...instead of a work-based or a fantasy-based economy, we went for a post-based economy, relating directly the number of posts one did on the boards? Viatax Sitadi Axdivijink Regigoraauk

It wouldn't be fair to those who don't have as much time to go here as, say, someone like me or Greg. They call it a signature, but no one ever signs their posts...

Actually take the time to think, though - part of the goal of making a working economy is making one that all our citizens can use without much complaint. This means making something that can cater to all the different types of people we have or could have.Basing it on posts alienates those who don't post a lot, and soon you have half of the nation ignoring the whole system. In order to keep money flowing, you have the government come up with a tax on nobles. Some nobles aren't active enough to be able to pay. They lose their nobility because they have a good culture that just develops once a week, instead of developing slowly every day.The whole system is just asking to be abused, or ignored, or repelled, because it's based on something that doesn't account for things like length of posts, content of posts, redeeming quality of posts, etc. Measuring those kind of things is based on opinion, and thus no two people will judge a post the same. A more concrete method of money distribution is needed if you want to have a functioning economy. It's not that it's not a good effort at trying to make an economy, it's just that I think it has to many holes to work. Next time, don't insult me, prove me wrong. They call it a signature, but no one ever signs their posts...

GaiaOnline (
http://www.gaiaonline.com ) has a pretty well-functioning economy based around posts, a casino, and a pretty interesting thriving fashion trade.I think the fashion trade can go if we were to do this here, honestly, but the rest I don't see why it wouldn't work. Viatax Sitadi Axdivijink Regigoraauk

Gaia Online offers incentives that are automated - Buy new clothes for you avatar! etc.Shireroth, on the other hand, would offer incentives like buying a vote or buying a good someone makes for you. These things are more personal and more valuable. Plus, by joining Gaia you're agreeing from the start to try it. By incorperating it into our economy, we're sticking it on people that already exist here and have their own habits. Someone joins Gaia to make the money and talk on a forum, and talk often. Not so with some of our members here, as they don't have the kind of time and thus wouldn't be fit for Gaia Online. They call it a signature, but no one ever signs their posts...

I agree, Mr. Mcgee. *passes out* There are no flowers, no not this time. There will be no angels gracing the lines, just these stark words I find.

On one hand, it would encourage activity. On the other hand, it doesn't necessarily encourage good posts. While that probably won't be too much of a problem, it would be nice if it focused on contributations to the community. But then, that would be hard to regulate.
