Discuss: Can a protectorate (such as the Grand Duchy of Lac Glacei) enter into feudal contracts? If not, should they?

I believe a president was set with Sager, wasn't it? There are no flowers, no not this time. There will be no angels gracing the lines, just these stark words I find.

Precedent set, yes, but I want Legislation. I want protectorates to have defined rules for the feudal structure.

I spelled that wrong. I am disgraced. There are no flowers, no not this time. There will be no angels gracing the lines, just these stark words I find.

Quote:Can a protectorate (such as the Grand Duchy of Lac Glacei) enter into feudal contracts? If not, should they?I'm not sure they could. If a protectorate is technically a separate sovereign state, even if one closely associated with Shireroth, then for one to enter into a feudal contract involving entities that are definitely subdivisions of Shireroth itself seems like a very legally problematic situation.By the Centerflying Treaty, Lac Glacei would be "not be subject to the laws of the Landsraad of Shireroth" and "not be subject to any Kaiserial decrees save those which expressly mention it". Aside from the fact that the feudal contracts themselves are products of Imperial law, for Lac Glacei to be involved in one would put it on unequal legal footing with its contract partners, since Landsraad laws would affect the entirely Shirerithian partners but not Lac Glacei.

What IS certain is that what we decide on one will effect the other, right? There are no flowers, no not this time. There will be no angels gracing the lines, just these stark words I find.

I agree with Shyriath.

Shyriath has a point. To put the Protectorate not subject to the landsraad when its partners in a feudal contract are does not sit well with me.
