Asside from the currency issue (which IS negotiable...), I think you just generally made him mad by adopting Babkha's laws. There are no flowers, no not this time. There will be no angels gracing the lines, just these stark words I find.

You may be annoyed, but do not accuse us, Erik, for violating laws.On the currency/economics thing - NOTHING was finalized. We discussed and explored possibilities.Babkhan law:Several reasons for that. For a long time Ardashir ruled Elwynn, and Ardashir brought with him the Babkhan concept of rule. Merely codifying the laws. Secondly, Babkhan law is the most developed of all systems of law of the microworld. And it's not as if I had Ardashir become judge. And regards to Matthew Basil's comments: They were probably done out of not knowing what laws there are in regards to a subdivision's powers when it comes to foreign affairs. The laws of Shireroth do actually state that a subdivision may not conduct "significant" foreign affairs. And personally I feel that the comments of Mr Basil were not significant.SO again, do not accuse Elwynn for violating the sovereignty of this Empire. We are Shirerithians but if you start seeing us as non-Shirerithians, then non-Shirerithians we will become.

Only if Erik or Bill go off on one... yeah this will probably escalate, but its a valid point he has made, constantly having a go at him is not endearing the rest of Shireroth to the people of Elwynn.

Quote:Oh dear goodness, remove that last sentance please or this will escalate! Why should I? I am tired of constantly being told how disloyal the population of ELwynn is, how bad I am to let them be members of the Elwynnese community, how bad this and that is...People tell me that they are "worried" about Elwynn's "power" and that I "ought" to do something about that "power" because that is not good. Please, treat us with some respect Edited by: RicLyon at: 12/11/05 12:45

So you would prove those that accuse you of being disloyal right by being disloyal? I'd think you'd want to prove them wrong. They call it a signature, but no one ever signs their posts...

The point he's making is that the hostility towards Elwynn is in danger of becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy.

....right...The babkhan thing is that you submit to the rulings of Babkhan courts, thus you put yourself under their legal jurisdication. That is a problem. rather large one, as Babkhan precedents and such have no validity in this nation. E. I have full faith in Elwynn and it's population, as they are loyal Shirithian citizens who are simply experimenting within their boundaries (and sometimes exceeding them).I will point out that the fact that most of Elwynn consists of dual citizens--dual citizenship having always been looked down upon within Shireroth--which causes a good deal of alarm. However, I have seen no indication that Elwynn is any more or any less loyal than the rest of the Shirithian populous--in fact, Ric and I have discussed the matter between ourselves. I would even go so far as to say that Ric has served Shireroth in a far greater capacity than some other non-dual-citizens of late.I would also care to point out that my recent restrictions on Elwynnese affairs--that of first economy and second of foreign affairs--do not demarcate a prejudice I have against the Elwynnese population; rather, simply that Elwynn is trying things that other subdivisions are not, and some of those things are not wholly approporiate for a subdivision to perform on it's own or are actions which are granted to the Imperial Throne itself. The recent interchange between Elwynn and Antya--specifically, between Oz and Bill--is shameful on both parties counts, and should be forgotten. We are one nation: united in our actions, in our victories and our defeats. Let us not let petty infighting destroy what we have worked so hard to create.
