The only reason why we do not do it anymore is because you didn't do the job, and were more active in Babkha. I said earlier before that I would be willing to do it, (I mean, come on, complaining is my speciality) and you guys didn't elect me.As well, the entire charter is going to need to be rewritten, it seems. Oh. Yes, Ombudsman was a position created during an absence of mine from Shireroth, never really saw the point in it.But I can't acquiesce to a one-person petition..

Not a citizen, but as a former Ombudsman I can say how useless and frusterating I found the job. No one EVER dropped me anything in my EzInbox or email about that so I had to kind of go around pestering people. "Hey, feeling discontent today? Want to let the Kaiser know something? Eh eh???"The one person that DID make a vague complaint got exactly what he wanted but other than that nothing. When I resigned they blamed me for the failure, of course. Well people in Shireroth are generally glad to make complaints...I've found anyway. Maybe the Ombudsman position would work if people were terrified of the Kaiser or something, but otherwise....?

Or... you could make a law stating that the Ombudsman must censor through the Imperial Kaiser's mail, so that... if he can, he will solve them before they reach the Kaiser, so that the Kaiser will only need to be notified of VERY important affairs?

I don't even use e-mail for dealing with Shireroth, so having someone rifle through my e-mails beforehand would be even more of an invasion of privacy than it might be otherwise..

By mail, I mean that in the General sinc eof if anyone has something to ask you to fi x, etc, it go through your Ombudsman first. If he can fix it, fine, he fixes it and you never have to worry about it. If it is beyond his power, it's 'on your desk' next morning.

But then I'd have no job to do, and the Ombudsman would have unnecessarily huge powers.I'm not keeping the Ombudsman position. It wasn't created to be the Kaiser's personal servant either. If people are afraid to bring issues to me, then the issues are not going to get heard, I'm afraid.

Ah well. It was an interesting experiment, if a failed one... may it rest in peace.

It probably would have worked better if we had a much larger nation where it wasn't the case that pretty much everyone knows everyone else. *throws grenade for the hell of it*BO0O0O0O0/\/\!!!!!!

Aye, so it isn't looking like the Ombudsman position could pull its weight even if it tried.I'm changing the Charter tonight, so I'll get rid of that too, methinks..
