Address to the Nation

Alright, time to break some umbrellasÂ…ItÂ’s clear to everyone that not a lot is happening, I suppose. That people are to blame for this is another obvious fact. That I as Kaiser could have done much better with the best part of my first month on the throne is so painfully clear that on a fine day one can see Wales. And what, you all ask, will be done? For a start, IÂ’m going to start putting some thought into my reign. It has become obvious that if I want anything done beyond the normal upkeep of the nation, then I must do it myself. IÂ’m not bitter about this, I realise now that this is what I signed up for when I applied (hah) to be Kaiser. Lying in a sickbed gives one a lot of time to think about how much better things could be. I look around and see that I have only half fulfilled one of my many goals for my reign. Whose fault is this? None but my own.Second, and luckily this goal gets fulfilled almost as soon as I write this sentence, IÂ’m going to take significantly less male bovine faeces. I, unless the title in front of my new moniker is drastically incorrect, am the Kaiser. The Kaiser of Shireroth, as it happens. The KaiserÂ’s word is law, if I remember my Shirerithian traditions correctly. What the Kaiser does or does not do is nobodyÂ’s concern except his own, and perhaps that of the Council, if he allows them to be concerned over his behaviour. Third, IÂ’m asking you all to work with me. ItÂ’s October, and very little has been done since September. WeÂ’ve had some petty disputes (even accusations of secession) which could easily have been resolved if everyone took a step back and saw how these resentments and slights are affecting the dynamic in this nation. If we want to vent frustration, do so in SNARL, or write something creative, or even (gasp) do some work in an aggressive manner. Bickering over issues which should never have arisen will not solve anything. Finally, thanks to all who expressed concern for my health. I blame it on attending a college full of disease-ridden students, and in fact suspect that the Hamilton Science Block, envious of the daylight-dwelling remainder of the student body who attend classes in the opulent splendour of the Arts Block, unleashed some terrible virus that I call the Annoying Flu. TheyÂ’re out to get your Kaiser, Shirerithians, you know what you have to do!
