Hail Los the Third, Hail Shireroth, Hail the Gods of the Shirerithians, Hail the Cursed Ministries, Hail The Kaiser! If the Kaiser requires ANY assistance of me, you can PM me and I will do whatever I can.I also hope perhaps we can start writing more Shirerithian history? Thus far we have pretty much just Shireroth from its absorbtion into Jasonia and Treesia, but not much beyond that. http://www.storjoneforums.tk

Coronation speech

Posted: Mon Aug 01, 2005 3:48 pm
by Kaiser Los III
The gods are angry. For the past few months, our lands have been quiet. We have not been conquered, we have not lost our citizens, we simply have not felt ourselves up to any exertion. The spirit that prevails is one of things-can't-be-done, that all the good ideas were tried years ago, that all that lies before us is more of the same. And so our lands have been quiet. And the gods are angry. The past few days have brought good omens. Nicholas of Yardistan is working on a design for our currency. Duke James of Brookshire is working on plans to revitalize our lagging immigration system. They have shown us that there are still goals to be achieved, if we have the enthusiasm, that there are yet more exciting days ahead if we have the creativity to imagine them. And we will. For as long as any of us can remember, three Ministries have been cursed. The Ministry of Military Affairs has had no clear mission. The Ministry of Trade has had a clear mission that it has thusfar been impossible to fulfill. And the Ministry of Research and Education has suffered from neglect both by those who would teach and those who should be learning. These Ministries have become a byword for Shireroth's inability to move into territory beyond the strictly political.I intend to make those three Ministries into shining examples of Shirerithian creativity over the next few months. I intend to take personal control of all three, and to use them to show the micronationalists of the world that Shireroth is still on the cutting edge of micronational ideas. The Ministry of Military Affairs will revolutionize recwars via SNARL. The Ministry of Trade will continue work on currency design and will at last set up the economy we all desire. And the Ministry of Research has a particularly fun project up its sleeve that I will reveal shortly.I choose these three Ministries because it is not good enough to continue doing well what we Shirerithians have always done well. Working together in loyalty and friendship - this is something so natural to us that it is second nature. Continuing onward cheerfully as the micronational world all around us falls apart - we have done it before and will no doubt have to do it again. Tackling serious problems without taking ourselves seriously - this is inborn in all of us. But to confront the difficult problems - the cultural and economic fringes of Shirerithian life that have always promised while never delivering - if we can do that, then we will rebuild our nation's place of esteem and win back the favor of the gods. And the gods themselves have been too long neglected. Religion is the last of the areas of life in Shireroth that has always seemed interesting but never quite lived up to expectations. We need the gods' help, and if we do not know how to ask for it, we certainly will not receive it; but a devotion to the work of crafting mythologies and philosophies will no doubt bear secular fruit as well in the form of increased activity and community. So the gods will it, and so I will it. But unless you, the people of Shireroth, believe that we can tackle areas that have forever eluded us before, do battle with our darkest demons and emerge victories, then any work I, or our hard-working ministers, or the nobles put in is doomed to fail.It is time for us Shirerithians to win back the respect of the gods, the micronational world, and ourselves. Get to work!

Congratulations, Scott, from all of us in Antica! (I'm sure more people would express it but we're still in our own little slump).

Apparently good Catholics aren't supposed to swear oaths, but I jumped that bandwagon long ago, so a loaf of Rankin's brown bread for the new Kaiser, and a salute. Wil Nider to the HyperboreansEoin to the restZirandorthel to the ages

I am. But I think it would be a nifty way to boost activity in both our nations at the same time.
