Imperial Decree #77:Line of Succession & Legitimacy(Revo

by Kaiser Mors III
For the Majority of the history of the Kaisership of Shireroth. We have worked off a system of Succession. There was a line of Succession. When the throne was given up, or the Kaiser died, the throne would got to the first person on the Line of Succession, If they did not want it, or could not take it, it would go to the next person in the line, and so on. We stopped this for a time, and switched to a System refered to as the Heir System. This System stops now. From this point forth Shireroth is returning to the Line of Succession. The Line of Succession.Erik MetzlerScott SiskindNick of YardistanJadie of GoldshireGreg RussellStone Jack0BarLegitimacyAll Kaisers and Kaiseress' between Raynor and myself are Legitimate under Imperial Law. Since I cannot complain about being on the list ...A more interesting note is that this makes Aure's reign as Kaiseress legitimate and an official part of Shireroth's history. Ah good times.

I did consider you Joseph.. But I had to keep the list shortish...And I could explain why I picked the people I picked....Erik Metzler (Duh)Scott Siskind (He's got Micronational seniority on all of us, he's been Kaiser before, he's been in Shireroth a long time. and he's cool..hehe)Nick of Yardistan (Seniority Micronationaly on alot of people, was a good Steward between Letifer and Raynor, been a loyal cit for a long while...ect..)Jadie of Goldshire (Kaiseress once, been in Shireroth a good while... )Greg Russell (2nd person to Join Shireroth, Micronational tenue...ect.. Although he WAS gone for a long while...)Stone Jack0Bar (Secret evil plan #137...)As it stands the chances of the throne being offered as low on the list as Greg is kinda low...History tell us... Joseph.. if I was to extend the list a bit.. you would proly make it on. but also.. there are quite a few people I know would make good Kaiser's... Ari...and others.. but I can only put so many... The Kaiser can do whatever the hell he wants. I see future kaisers getting rid of the line and going back to the heir system...I think people just like it better (I for one would not).i think, though, that joseph should be on the list...for he has been one of our most active citizens for about as long as i can remember. To deny him privilege to position on the list is egregious on the Kaiser's part, and to allow a relatively inactive citizen of less tenure such as Stone onto it makes little to no sense. The last time I saw stone, Jadie dragged him back solely for the purpose of yelling at me. Then he disappeared again. I think that the nation could appreciate having somebody a bit more...responsible...on the list, and perhaps much higher up, perhaps higher than that Yardistani guy... -Gryphon Avocatio- Lord Governor and Duke of all Yardistan - Minister of Research and Education, Shireroth - Shirerothian Elder - "Minsiter of Dance, Pants and Funny Walks" - SAVE THE KIWI!! - Lover of Llamas "You're intense and driven. how the hell was the heir system flawed?! The heir system worked perfectly fine. In fact, this line of succession is just an extended heir system... any kaiser can change the line of succession on a whim anyways... why not just call it heir? And Erik, I'm serious... if you want this to replace the heir system, you should probably edit the Imperial Charter. And Nick, I don't mind too much not being on the list... and it's not like it will last for more than two Kaisers anyway... and considering the rate at which we go through Kaisers in this country... I mean, seriously... David will be up there in no time... I suppose I am biased since I am on the list...but as I spake, i see it being taken out of the system...mostly because i think people would prefer the freedom to declare for certain who is to follow them.backstabbing aside, joseph is right. There was no flaw in the heir system. It worked perfectly every time: the person who was declared heir became Kaiser. The line of succession really does nothing but extend the heir system to include more people. And since it is a decree (as is the charter, might I add), the line can be changed or done away with unless provisions are somehow created to make it unchangeable. That could set about bad precedents, implying that old Kaisers' decrees are somehow more powerful than other. Also, there is nothing stopping future Kaisers from creating lines with only one person in it.Greg...I am that certain Yardistani.Joseph...if you don't mind not being on the list, then good for you. I'm glad that there are less power-hungry micronationalists than one would imagine... In fact, the only way to preserve the heir system is to put people in line who agree with it completely...we already know that Mr. Siskind prefers the heir system, so their's one we can't trust already... I do prefer the heir system, for the following reasons:1. It makes things more interesting for everyone and gives them an incentive to work hard. Under the heir system, no one is really sure who is going to be the next Kaiser until around the middle or the end of the Kaiser's reign, so it basically means you could wake up and be Kaiser tomorrow, which is a powerful reason to support the Kaiserial government. It's also a powerful reason to do good things for Shireroth so as to make the Kaiser notice and like you. Under this system, if you're not in the top five or so you can be pretty sure you're never going to become Kaiser unless an asteroid hits Sonoma or something.2. Every Kaiser is going to want to change the line of succession, unless Erik has the gods politely ask not to. If I become the next Kaiser, then I'm going to want to change it so that the people who I think are the most acceptable heirs are on the top, and if Nick becomes Kaiser, he's going to want to change it so that his choices are on the top. Thus, we end up with an heir system anyway, sort of.3. It can be insulting. It's almost like valuing the members of the kingdom. Gryphon was annoyed that he wasn't on it, and I can honestly say I would have been a little insulted if I wasn't on it either. Personally I'm a little surprised that I'm higher up than Nick and if I were Nick I'd probably be a little bit annoyed about that too (after all, he's a full Duke and has been loyal to Shireroth since forever). With the heir system, you let everyone keep the illusion that they were going to be your second choice. The only advantage to this is that it details what can happen if a Kaiser disappears without an heir or if the Kaiser and the heir disappear at the same time, but that kinda happened with Meskan and we handled it alright.

Joseph.. shut up.. You don't know Imperial law as well as you think you do.. This is the ORIGINAL system we worked under... the Constitution was created under this system.. the Charter continues to support this system..DO ANY of you realize. with out a line of Suceession.. we would have NO Kaisers...? Do you. Read the Charter.. the Kaiser must be chosen from those eligible by birthright (historically from the line of Succession)... In other words.... Aure was not a legit Kaiser...nor the following Kaiser(esses). this is something I kept quiet till I could clean it up. the Heir system was flawed because it allowed for inexperienced people like Aure to take power. After her we got lucky to have Jas and Jadie as leaders... If you note the people I put on the list.. basicly.. people with tenue, and experience...As it has always been... So Joseph.. shut up. I've been sick of your legal whatever... for some time. You don't know the Law of this nation as well as you think. And now Steve is gone.. and I suspect you have something to do with it...[/end rant mode]right.... Maybe the heir system let people think they could aspire to be Kaiser when they woke up.. but did those people have what it took? Aure was a grand experiment. Could a newbie run this nation. Did someone without the expience of senior citizens have what it took to be Kaiser? No... To run a nation, and not be someone who is easily bullied you need an iron will and expience.. she didn't have it. Nor do I think a newbie could ever have it. She tried to change to much, didn't understand the system. An understanding that comes from time and experience. This is why the Heir system is flaws...And as for the joking comment about Nick's loyalties.. I know exactly where his loyalties are.... I know him. I trust him. So I don't know if that comment was a joke or meant as a jibe at him...but if the later....And as for Kaiser changing frequently.... (behold further backlash of the heir system....) No. Don't expect the throne to be changing anytime soon. I'm still not pleased with what's happening in this nation. And now that Steve has left.. I'm even more displeased... I will have answers.. And it's time I finished my plan...(Ok, YES.. maybe I'm having a power trip.. but in the course of a few weeks, I shall get done that which I should have had done months ago.... The LawBook was just the start! It's time to set straight things that were made wrong oh so long ago... KF is back in the Duchy it belongs in.. Kildare on a whole will be dealt with soon enough... unless the Duke wishes to clean up that mess before I get to it... (I advice cleaning it up...I'll leave you to figure out what needs cleaning up... it shall be a test, I shall say...)...The LAndsraad is dealt with already. Next than... Hyperborea.. (Scott don't be afraid.. we spoke on this matter.. it will be done within the week.) Now though, I must deal with Steve...before the break. But DEATH, shall ride this fortnight![I may not be in my right mind, after writing a big essay and running on 6(?) hours of sleep and it being 2am.. I woke up at.. err.. 9am? So I may change my mind and retract some threats...] Mortis BrookshireKaiser of Shireroth
