An acedemic journal style, hard copy micronational pub..

I am exploring the idea of publishing a hard copy academic style journal of micronationalism. I have access to the facilities to do this on a relatively cheap basis. The idea is to solicit articles from a broad cross section of the micronational world. All authors would receive a free copy of the journal.Subscription would probably be a couple of dollars an issue (and I doubt it would cover costs, but it will make it affordable for me), and would be payable via paypal, bank transfer, cheque, or a small selection of micronational currencies (my contribution to micronational economics). Before I push ahead with such an idea, IÂ’m keen to know if there is interest from potential authors and/or subscribers. Please post expressions of interest in the planning forum, here. For more details on the goal and scope of the journal, see this thread.

Some of Scott's and Sai's stories would be cool to see in there. Sadly, I'm not much of a writer myself... They call it a signature, but no one ever signs their posts...

Well...first of all, why hard-copy? This would ensure it costs you a lot of money and that most micronationalists don't have access to it, while an online version would be free and easy to view. The only advantage I can see is that your way kills trees, and those dendrologic bastards have taken up our perfectly good arable land for too long now.Second of all, isn't this essentially Noseworthy's RIMA journal? It's painfully academic, it discusses micronational issues, and it's deliberately in a hard-to-access format to make it seem more official. Why don't you offer to help Noseworthy? I'm sure he'd appreciate it.PS: The Review sucks.

You see, mine will butcher trees, making it even more official.Quote:Why don't you offer to help Noseworthy? Everyone knows that anything I do is oh so much better than anything done by someone named Scott.Jokes aside, there are a couple of reasons I want to do it this way.People like recieving things in the mail. I know I certainly do. And the first and formost reason, I have access to the facilities so I want to give it a shot. Emyr Ciaron BroeckKing of Breuddwyd

It would be fun. The Micronational Enquirer was an attempt at a sensationalist tabloiod scandal-rag, but didn't work because I didn't have enough time to do it, so I stole and re-worded articles, mainly those of the ComIntern to give them a right-wing bias. PDF really isn't that much better. HTML seems to be quite more convinient than the Skyline, at least for archives. And WarVoid, sorry, it only counts when Scott is writing it. Mostly because he is too awesome to not write it. Do I need to bring up my ScottQuotes(tm) to prove this?
