As Minister of the Exterior, I would recommend decreeing it. This will be faster, and this is quite a prestigious thing we're considering.. Wil Nider to the HyperboreansEoin to the restZirandorthel to the ages
Shireroth to be on BBC?

As David mentioned a few weeks ago, BBC is having a television program about a guy trying to make his flat into a micronation. Ben Gray of Treithar decided to lead a joint micronational venture to make contact with their country.Last night, he called in to their show and offered them a joint treaty. Because I expressed interest on MNN, Shireroth is one of the signatories. Basically, we would commit to recognizing them and mutual defense.Chances are that King Danny, the guy in charge of the show, would read off the signatories on national television, including us.I may put this treaty before the Landsraad or I may just decree it; I haven't yet decided.

Why would you shoot it down? You claim to have an interest in tourism.. Wil Nider to the HyperboreansEoin to the restZirandorthel to the ages

Eoin's got a point about the tourism thing. And you can't possibly shoot it down by yourself, since you only have 1/3 of the votes. It would still have a fighting chance in the Landsraad. It might make it funnier to have something like this backed by the nobles of this great nation. *throws grenade for the hell of it*BO0O0O0O0/\/\!!!!!!

I'd shoot it down because this guy seems like the kind of guy who would make fun of it on the BBC, instead of taking things seriously. Quantum materiae materietur marmota monax si marmota monax materiam possit materiari?

Have you actually seen the program? This man has already been ejected from Eel Pie Island by the London Metropolitan Police, has conversed with a man who claims to own the moon, and has held a press conference to announce the foundation of his flat-nation. I don't think we can dismiss a publicity opportunity because Dave Gorman's former sidekick will make fun of us. Even if he did make fun of us, it's on THE FECKING BBC!! Or are you just jealous you didn't think this up by yourself? Maybe you can recruit someone who'll find another TV celebrity who's setting up their own nation? Like I said, I'm just leery about it.But then again, I've worked in the media, so I know what it's like...at least here in the states. It may be different over there.Fine, go for it. I'll support it. Quantum materiae materietur marmota monax si marmota monax materiam possit materiari?

He's running a whole series on this topic, I doubt he'd be using it as a complex trap to make fun of micronationalists.. Wil Nider to the HyperboreansEoin to the restZirandorthel to the ages

Ah well, I've now got to get the treaty sent off in the post now. I'm just praying someone doesn't bite my head off for it. Foghorn's also got to take some credit for this, he came up with the idea of the joint treaty. Nifty. There are no flowers, no not this time. There will be no angels gracing the lines, just these stark words I find.

I got an e-mail from the producers, and they plan to have "King Danny I" sign the treaty live on BBCi at 10:30 pm, after the show. I'm trying to get my hands on a recording (if they can), else I'll try and pinch a camcorder and film it.I'm going to phone leafstorm on Monday and double-check that everything's ok with them.
