Promision to 'Publish'

As part of a new project in Cranda, I'd like to ask promision to 'publish' the works of Scott Siskind and anyone else interested. The idea is to make things, such as Menelmacari or "ancient" history available to the modern micronationalist. The "books" will be published in power point, and have old fashioned fancy covers, with publishing dates, etc. They'll also be published in a font meant to bring to mind old Latin treatese from the Renaissance and Middle Ages, with long s's and ligatures. I'll also be adding footnotes, and introductions.I probably won't actually wait for promision, since I have about a week to release the first book (the University publishing them won't even be established by then) before I disappear for most of the rest of the summer. I thought I'd inform everyone though, and hope that no one minds me jumping the gun. Out of curiosity, why are you using Power Point? I would think that exporting a pdf from Word would be simpler and probably more appropriate for publishing written works. Also, I find that .ppt files tend to get really huge, really fast, even faster than .pdf files. *throws grenade for the hell of it*BO0O0O0O0/\/\!!!!!!

I'm sure he'd be honored. Why, the Roman's would think he had tarantism if they saw the jubilation he would display if he knew someone valued his work! [22:19] Bill7D0: hahaha. Another broken worthless family. You really are worthless.[22:20] Bill7D0: Really, it figures. Parents were piss poor and thus you are piss poor.[22:28] Bill7D0: So, I'm emmigrating Shireroth, and this time, something's not my fault. It's your fault. And you can blame yourself for being a constant ***.

Nick saw fit to ruin a perfectly good thread with a typical "Microsoft sucks because Bill Gates wears glasses" type answer. Why Nick. Why.

I still say a pdf is the preferred method for a fancy document that you want to widely distribute electronically. If I remember correctly, they're not even that outrageously large when exported from a program like Word (and yes, you can get an Open Office equivalent). This is as opposed to a scanned pdf of something like a Vampire: The Masquerade corebook. Not that I would ever know of such things. *throws grenade for the hell of it*BO0O0O0O0/\/\!!!!!!

Auuugh...PDF is the spawn of the devil. It's like normal files, except you can't open it without special programs that occasionally crash the computer, you can't edit it without other expensive programs, and it's rather difficult to read. Well, since it's been established that PPT and PDF are evil, and because I can, for your benefit, also declare that DOC is evil... how about we just keep them things in HTML? Jag har glömt hur pjäserna stod!

The hidden premise in that argument seems to be "and research papers aren't evil", something I find it hard to agree with.

He's talking (I believe) about all of the complicated mathematical text in the super-technical parts of research papers (as if anything in a research paper isn't super-technical). It looks a lot better in the format it is in than it would in html, and I can totally understand that as a good reason to use pdf. *throws grenade for the hell of it*BO0O0O0O0/\/\!!!!!!
