I'd like to set up a memorial territory for Menelmacar. This territory shall be placed directly under the Imperial Government, and this area shall not be placed under any duchy, nor shall anyone move there. The ruins of Menelmacar shall stand untouched as a memory to everything that Menelmacar was, good as bad.I'd like the Caras Menelmacar Region to be placed under this memorial territory, but we know that Antica claims that area since a war with the Red Antilles and that Antica calls that area by New Brannum. If we concluded a treaty with Antica that gave us New Brannum (which we would of course rename to Caras Menelmacar or something), we would give them things in return. The most desirable would be if the nine islands surrounding Jaris, as well as Melangria, would be given to Antica in return. If this is not possible, the territories of Lothlaria would be ceded to Antica. What are your thoughts?

Could you imagine if a super power went "Here I'll give you this island, in return I'll take Rome nobody will be allowed to live there, it's just to preserve that once great nations memory." I say let the pixels be used and reused. You never know another super power may spring from them. No need in just taking up more space on the map.Peace,Adam

Who knows, the Menelmacarians might want it back.To be true to the Tolkienesque theme of Menelmacar, one should remember the Elves with a poignant sadness, but admit that the time of Man has come, and that all the Elves are happy in the Blessed Lands of the West.

What are you talking about, WarVoid? I told you about this exact same proposal a couple weeks ago for swapping for Lothloria, and you agreed to it. I just never got around to actually doing this.Ric, lemme smack you for telling this to people without talking to me first. And sorry, but the pixel argument doesn't work. The land has more importance than just mere pixels, especially a nation like Menelmacar. It's a matter of culture as well; the land itself is important. Not including the fact that was just a mockery to have a communist micronation where Menelmacar was, given the entire history of Menelmacar. Land should only be given to nations that would actually make sense for it to be there, not given blindly. yeah, we know we sort of unceremoniously claimed it. but, to make up for it, we're about to pass a bill allowing a CaST (province-ish-thing) to be set up there and allow multiple citizenships in ONLY that CaST. So you former inhabitants can come back and have a summer house there!

Yes, and it was pointless for you to remove the Apollo Foundation, considering the fact that most people were against you doing it. None of these issues, NONE of these issues, even the issue of MCS bias, would have have happened if you had continued to use the Apollo Foundation as a non-national preserver for small patches of land, none of this would have happened.bill3000.hypermart.net/Sh...orldb2.gif - map I had made a couple weeks ago for this proposal. Not all of the land.I'd also like to point out that you arn't Menelmacar by yourself. Also, if we're getting rid of Lothloria, Menelmacar would have to be part of Kildare. Other than the fact that it makes sense, Kildare can't lose land for nothing, and it would probably be the best as it would then just become a Kildari-only issue. And to prove that WarVoid had agreed to this, here's a part of my log file:Quote:Bill7D0: Looks like I'll have to swap Lothloria for Menelmacar after all.WarVoid: Move Lothlaria? If this Memorial is for OAM and not both, I remove my objections.3. If this Memorial is for OAM, does the MCS plan on also creating a Memorial for The Imperium of Menelmacar. My objections: I do not believe any nation should have control over the Memorial as that has the potential of becoming a political tool. If someone donates land to the MCS and creates a Memorial that to me is a cool idea, but giving any nation control over that memorial is bad policy IMO.

It looks as if I got some opposition. This memorial would be the Menelmacar Memorial, only that tiny little land where Caras Menelmacar was, and it would be a memorial for everything that Menelmacar was, the good, the bad and the ugly. That is, Adam, for the time when Menelmacar was unified, and after the revolution for both Menelmacars. That would include the fictional histories of Soloralisms (which said Babkhans were dwarfs) and include the works of Yellowism.I am sure that the memorial would not be used for any political reasons. Tymaria City is in Shirerithian hands, but we could make laws here forbidding the exploitation of Menelmacar.

...don't get me started about Yellowism. Menelmacar was meant to be Soloralist, despite its freedom of religion, much like Shireroth is meant to be Cedrist. Yellowism alrerady had a home nation, the CU, while Soloralism was only in Menelmacar. The only possible way that Menelmacar could join us is if Kildare owns it, because there's no chance in PRH that we would get it for not ceding land (actually, very little chance of getting it all after the Audentior stunt the GC pulled), and the only land that no Shirerothian cares about is Lothloria, which is Kildari land.Plus, the only real advantage to us actually having Menelmacar would be reviving the good old times by having citizens join it.And Sirithil probably wouldn't want this unless there is a clause saying that he can take Menelmacar away for refounding again. Leave well enough alone it's dead. Let it rest in peace, PLEASE.Why? The only reason to keep it dead, traditionally, is so a successor micronation doesn't become a mockery. Well, Menelmacar couldn't have had a more shameful death anyway, and having a new Menelmacar couldn't make things worse than they already were if we got it right.Plus, if Sirithil decides to come back, he's the ultimate one who has the say as to if he refounds Menelmacar or not.Pah. See what you've done, Ric? You've caused the rift to come again. This might have worked if Archetype didn't come back, but now the schism is back again. And I'm holding my feelings back, too. Day Ten: Bill digs the hatchet back up and stabs Archetype in the back with it. Considering the opposition to this (And the requirements of Kildare even considering it), perhaps we should declare this issue dead. I regret defending it (though I technically was acting neutral in some sense until WV posted )Personally, when I come to think of Menelmacar, I think I need to think of Menelmacar before the schism (before the whole "I'm the real nation" crap) Bill Dusch - Archon of SoloralismQuillan Fatebane, 65th Paladin, Lanys Tvy'l Server (EQ1)Quillan Umbarcotumo, 37th Paladin, Innothule Server (EQ2)Proud to be Apollonianvar txtList = new Array()txtList[txtList.length]="'Whoa!
