When the Mayans (or maybe it was the Aztecs) encountered days that they didn't want to exist, they had a lot of sorrowful weeping and human sacrificing. I'm pretty sure it was the Mayans, because one thing I remember that they did NOT do was pull people's hearts out; that was the exclusive territory of the Aztecs.

Yeah...there's something about Leap Day that's a little weird.
