Flag Change Bill 3963
Be it enacted by the Landsraad of the Imperial Republic of Shireroth
1. Section VII, A, 3, a of the LawBook shall be amended to read:
"a. The national flag of Shireroth is a cross of green and brown intersecting a saltire of red and yellow with a white square-like shape in the center upon a blue field,
like so."
2. Section VII, A, 3, b of the LawBook shall be repealed.
This changes our national flag into this:
I ask that this bill be processed under section C, 2 of the Landsraad Procedures, stating:
"2. A majority of those citizens present and voting at the Landsraad Front Gate may vote to introduce a bill or resolution in the Landsraad. The Landsraad must then consider the bill or resolution. No Landsraad member may participate in this vote."

I will not interfere with the will of the Landsraad and the Front Gate in this matter one way or the other. If it passes the Landsraad, I will decree it into law.
I note with interest that the law cited by Minister Tosha bars members of the Landsraad from this vote. I leave it to the Praetor to decide how to interpret and enforce that restriction.

At least you have taken a good version, and not the one of CJ and Bill.
But to make this vote a bit more interesting: nay.
It's a TIE! MUHAHAHA!

Well this is weird since it's not a vote for a flag. It's a vote to do a vote for a flag. Technically all of this is meaningless if a Landsraad member introduces it. But since this issue isn't going to go away until we sort this out, voting no on this seems kind of silly and petty.

But I'm not really kind to get the flag changed, so why should I vote for a vote to do a vote for a flag?

Oh get over that bloody worthless rag will you. It still disgraces the crown as an Imperial Standard. Ought not that to be enough?

It's much prettier now.

Of the modernisations of the old flag I preferred the one I borrowed to form a part of my signature. That said I've all but accept that a certain segment of the community won't "FOR THE LOVE OF GOD SHUT UP" until the flag issue is resolved in favour of some toned down variant of the old flag as proposed above.

Well, so much for the Kaiser's call to not be dicks today. Maybe tomorrow will be better.

Yeah - tough that. Shouldn't have mentioned the flag.
PS. It's currently 1-0.

It's interesting, a least a little bit, how you manage to have the attitude that the people wanting to change it back are all so noisy when you yourself make incredibly opinionated and loud statements yourself. You might want to leave the holier-than-thou act to Scott; he's much better at it than you are.

Jonas and Harvey, re the Landsraad: I will vote whichever way the majority of the nation goes, since I don't have a strong view on the issue.

I still think this debate ought to happen at a later time. I'm happy that this effort was felt to be worth introducing to the Landsraad, but right now?
I'll wait for a bit to cast a vote, but at the moment I'm inclining toward a no.

4-3. But as the Khan is voting on behalf of Kalir in the Landsraad, I'm not sure if I can count his vote. I'll deal with that later. Oh and Jonas. Vote not for lol's but because that's how you feel.
I support this, though I will not be voting for obvious reasons. And I ask that we not make this a heated debate, let's just have a vote of it and move one.

Yeah. If this vote occurs, this is the BE ALL AND END ALL of flag discussion. At least for the next twelve months, if not hopefully forever.

Someone should propose my render of the old flag:

I think we've decided on the other one. Sorry CJ.

Quoting myself:
"But I'm not really kind to get the flag changed, so why should I vote for a vote to do a vote for a flag?"
I can vote for lol's because I disagree with changing the flag again.
