Why are you trying to merge these lands?

I generally see merging counties as a way for a house to grab more land, but make it look like they only have 1 county. It's deceptive land grabbing as I see it. And while I'm sure Kalir isn't trying to be deceptive, the practice in general should not be supported.

I merged New Jasonia with Audentior because Jonas has a very strong connection to both. This is a bit more tricky, and I don't want to set a precedent.

That can be done without merging the counties. Simply ask the Kaiser, as has been done, for them to be assigned to house Kalir, who can then assign them to Scott. Didn't the Kaiser already agree to give him the lands.

In order to merge the smaller counties of Cimmeria and Bjorngard into Hyperborea, I am willing to reduce the size of Cape Farewell by 50%-75%, by assigning the southern undeveloped lands of Cape Farewell (Civitas Nova area) to Frieden.

But the general outcome would be less counties, and Hyperborea would be part island, part mainland.

I might support the creating of 1 county out of Cimmeria and Bjorngard, if another county was somehow created to offset the loss of a county. Merging 3 into 1 I will not support. Merging 2 into 1 and splitting 1 into to. or some other finagling of borders, I might support.

I have been considering splitting Nova Dalmacija and naming the new county after Lady Carol in some way.

Or why not just rename the capital of ND after her?

Yes, could be done, but that wouldn't solve this issue as well.

This bill through, and the islands off Nova Dalmacija be formed a county named "Carol Islands" or summat like that.

I would like to hear from Kildare first, since Lady Carol was Kildarian.

I vote NAY to the bill as it stands. Hyperborea is an island. Merging it's county with mainland (particularly mainland a long way away) makes no sense. By all means, give Scott all three. Play them as Hyperborean colonies if you like. But don't merge them.

Regarding recognising Lady Carol, I would be happy with the idea of the islands being named Carol Islands; though in purely cartographical terms, it would look odd to have the islands in one county and all the mainland in another. Perhaps dividing the top portion off around the bay and calling it "Cape Carol"? Since Port Nevermore was always her favourite, that would seem appropriate to me. I would advise raising the matter in the Front Gate or General Discussion though; there are others here who knew Carol better than I and can probably say more on what she would have liked. I just know that at one point Nova Dalmacija was arbitrarily split into an upper and lower; and that she worked to reunite them, and so wouldn't like them arbitrarily split like that again.
