Change to Micras Proportions

Mr Allot
Minister of the Exterior,
I am proposing on Micras that the miles per pixel be changed to make it easier to compute. Currently one pixel represents 6.917 miles. I would like to see that changed to 7 miles.
Does The Imperial Republic of Shireroth have any personal maps, using Micras geography, that are scaled in such a way that changing the distance of a pixel would adversely affect it? If not, may I assume that Shireroth has no conflict with the slight alteration of the distance represented by the pixels on the map?

Miles per pixil makes no sense. (I know I used it myself...). As the world is round and the map is flat.

It's a standard used for the equator. Obviously the number changes as you leave the equator. But since the value is only valid for the equator exactly and needs to be scaled when you go north or south, which results in further uncomfortable numbers, I'm not sure what the point of this change really is.

This is a non-issue. I always use 11 kilometers per pixel, and scale it down a bit if I move too far from the equator. It might not be 100% accurate, but in the grand sceme of things, who cares?

Lord Ailin,
Thank you for considering Shireroth in this change. I will get back to you shortly. If you have any other concerns please contact me.

That's not completely true. I hate to make this comparison, because it's silly and it's easy to blow off a point that uses a silly subject, but it explains it the best. Think of a disco ball. The globe is covered in squares of reflective material, all the same size, usually malleable enough to conform to the curve (unless you have an old one with glass.) There is negligible gap between the squares, that are easily passed off as mountains and valleys that make the distances around the world not nearly as even as a perfectly smooth globe. The only real problem area with that scenario is the couple dozen top and bottom pixels or so, which are not all that frequently used.

And Dr. Spangle uses a number different from both of us for his projects. Getting a standard number that everyone uses, so no one has to make up their own for estimation and 'grand scheme' purposes is what I'm trying to achieve here.

Mr Allot,
Thank you for your prompt response.

Lord Ailin,
From the responses above, I can't see that this would affect Shireroth adversely in any way. As such, Shireroth has no objections to this. Thank you again for taking the time to ask us.
