FOOLISH MORTALS!!!

For too long have Shirithians displeased the Gods. Gaelen sought to defy us; Aurangzeb worshipped foreign gods; and Leto would have elevated himself to be one of us. MORTALS! This will not do! We are very, very angry at you! You heard me! We are very cross! Go to your room!
Ehm. So, yeah, hi. First of all, I'd like to apologise for the way I went behind everyone's backs and was all manipulative to get the Kaisership for myself. But, well, you know, I'm not immune to that strange compulsion to actually do things that I enjoy in Shireroth. Sometimes, that means pulling off wacky political stunts for reasons that really don't even have all that much to do with maintaining the nation's stability or such things, but more with the fact that micronations are one of the few places where you can pull off wacky political stunts and have a chance of eventually convincing everyone it was all in good fun.
For those who happen for some reason to be reading this a few years later or otherwise don't have the whole story (you can consider this a more up-to-date and even-handed version of what's in the Malarbox at the time of posting): Essentially, the reign of Kaiser Leto was... well, in my opinion, he did his best, it's just that he made some decisions too quickly, and delayed other things too much. I maintain that a few stewardships and some grooming will yet make Jonas an excellent Kaiser to rule some other time, and that he simply wasn't quite ready yet this time. It was mostly - though, I guess I must agree, not completely - Harvey's work on #micronations that turned the nation against him. At first the intended successor that the channel was favouring was Erik, but after a few Elwynnese came in, everyone agreed on Scott instead. By that time, though, I had already made a move to offer Leto a better deal for the kaisership than Harvey and friends had come up with, and in the morning, Leto would accept it.
If I hadn't done anything, by this time it would either be Scott who's on the throne, or Leto on his last days before abdicating to him. I have no doubt about the fact that the only deciding factor for the untimely end of Leto's kaisership was that a consensus was formed against him on #micronations, and my involvement was really a rather small detail in terms of the big picture.
Since I got to be Kaiser without actually working for it, I figure I'm going to try to put some effort into actually running a decent kaisership to make up for the way the transfer of power happened. I've got all sorts of ideas written down for fun little reforms in places that have been getting little attention, and various topics of discussion of things of national interest in mind to plop down when the going gets less active. Hopefully I get around to doing at least some of those things

Secondly, I was thinking of adopting Scott's idea of bringing back the Kaiserial epithets. Preferably we'd have an epithet for everyone all the way back to Yarad I (everyone before him, back to Mors IV, already has an epithet). We could start with Leto III. I don't remember who put out this suggestion, but I believe Leto III the Proud would be a good name for him. It will remind us of the Kaiser with ideas of founding an Imperial cult, and who never missed a chance to find more glory for his home duchy from Imperial government, without putting undue emphasis on what some perceived as shortcomings during his reign.

who wants to be Imperial Steward ? Erik's displayed an interest, but there are various problems with appointing him...
- Ryan has, just recently, displayed great equanimity in his dealings as Duke of Yardistan, not to mention being reasonable and tempered elsewhere. Erik, on the other hand, hasn't had much of a chance to display anything in Shireroth due to his self-imposed LOA. I don't want to be unreasonable about it, and I don't really consider myself to be in the moral position to punish one person and reward another, but still, just in terms of fairness, Ryan seems like a better-founded choice
- I don't recall Erik actually formally ceasing his rebellion against the throne. I know, it's a pretty irrelevant and comedic detail, and maybe I'm vain, but I rather don't like the idea of having a guy who's been in rebellion against however many Kaisers now as my Steward
- I don't want to just kick Ryan out when he's got to be Steward for like 15 minutes! Not without at least asking his opinion first...
Fourthly,
who wants to be Arbiter ? Mike has brought the issue up, and of course if Erik becomes Steward we're going to have to give the Arbiter's position to *someone*. I don't have anything against Mike, but still, I'd like to hear some opinions before I just unilaterally Arbiterify him.

I have an heir in mind, but I'm open to suggestions and nominations and self-nominations, so turn those names in!- Honor Leto in some sort of an appropriate way
- Make the 30-day prophecy
- Publish a position on the heir, steward, and arbiter
- Ask people whether they actually like SCOWL or not; this will lead up to a decision on whether to stay in it or not, and affects Andreas's presence
- Properly organise stuff on Brook- and Goldshire if Leto hasn't finished up yet
