Right, so, IRC business

And then it came to pass that: Last night Bill banned Harvey from #micronations. Malliki unbanned him and deopped Bill in response, but since Bill has aop from ChanServ he was able to op himself back again. So he got into some sort of a big slapfight with Malliki and then banned Harvey and Malliki again (Chrimigules brought them back). Or something like that. I'm not precisely sure about the timeline because I don't want to look too closely, lest whatever it was that made you guys get into a fight like that in the first place would infect me too.
So, yeah. I don't want to judge, but since my being the channel founder happens to make me the one who people bring the emotional laundry that they soiled at #micronations, I suppose I'll have to do it.
Mike? Keep on trucking, I guess.
Harvey? I think if you'd just stated that Bill banned you (twice) and you wanted him off the aop list I'd have gone "Right, true, Bill misused his aop, let me take him off the list and talk to him". But you didn't just say that Bill banned you. You said that Bill is going to keep abusing his aop for as long as he can to piss you off and spam the channel forever. That made me go "Erm" at you. You should know better by now than to do things that make me go "Erm" at you. Thing is, the only thing you did wrong was accuse someone on #micronations of something he didn't do, so it's not like I can respond to that by anything else than calling you out on it, but, well, hey, at least I just did that.
Anyway, you also accused Bill of trolling, but I think you're simply mistaken about that. I'm trying really hard to visualise him reading your post about going LOA from Shireroth last night and going "Hey, you know what would be funny? Kickbanning Harvey from #micronations lolololol!" I dunno, maybe on the surface he did. But it seems far more likely to me that he actually was angry at you and frustrated at Shireroth in general, and responded by taking it out on you on IRC. That he'd later state it was for the lulz is entirely in character for Bill, I mean, you *do* realise that there's a specific kind of personality that tends to end up act like a glass cannon troll, and Bill's pretty much, well, that?
And then, Bill. Uhh, you don't kickban people on #micronations for being stupid. OK? You kickban them for, well, spamming, and not much else, really. Maybe if they insist on speaking a language nobody else on the channel understands. Something like copypasting a dissertation on coffee would pretty much just earn a normal kick unless they insist on coming back and continuing to paste it. And if you do ban someone, it's for... until someone happens to clear the ban list, I suppose. We just do not have a convention of ten-minute bans or such, and I don't want to introduce one either. I'm not into punishment like that (actually I think that if you ever feel like using the word "punish" wrt. #micronations moderation, you should probably taboo it)... though, for what it's worth, I suppose I'm going to keep you off the aop list for a couple of days anyway because I'm afraid of Harvey blowing up if I don't. Call it community cohesion, I suppose. You're not going to abuse your op status in the future, right? Right?
Oh, and one more thing. If someone's going to come in and accuse me of siding with someone... pleeeeeeeease be specific about where I'm making that mistake, OK? I'm really not sure at all I'm doing remotely the right thing, and the only reason I feel up to the task of deciding about something like this at all is that the stakes are so low (seriously, it's just an IRC channel), but I'd still appreciate it that if this does end up into a big argument, it would at least be a coherent one.
