I am uncertain of the origins of Bill's Bulgarophobia but I am certain he would probably approve of the Byzantine Emperor they called Boulgaroktonos on account of leaving a certain number of dead Bulgars in his wake.

When you lived in a nation as disgustingly nationalist as Turkey, and when independence day is the same day as your birthday, one is naturally inclined to want to Balkanise and carve up Anatolia à la Sèvres.

In fact, I even implemented my Turkey-carving (pun not intended) into Hearts of Iron II as my popular Anatolian Wars Mod, which promted a full email inbox of nationalist Turks pouring their hearts out with the caps lock.
