I demand less prestige!

Your niftiness, I find the existence of the Order of the Mango rather pointless, and would like it to be disbanded.

Being a Knight of the Mango means very little that being a high-level member of the Order of the Dragon wouldn't already mean. Since I am the only KotM who isn't also a KotD, and I don't really have a problem with losing the prestige, I think the OotM could be disbanded without anyone losing face over it. Two forces that I can think of would encourage doing away with it: It's yet another thing named after mangos (that we already have enough of), and it takes up space on the awards lists that could perhaps be used for more interesting things.

I asked Erik and Scott about this a couple of months ago, the former didn't seem to particularly care either way while the latter agreed with me. (after that I took my time seeing if I could come up with arguments for disbanded the OotM other than those one, but couldn't - good thing I'm pretty sure the arguments for its existence are likely to be rather weak too)

What say you, your Niftiness? :worship

I'm rather sick of all the mangoes myself....

On a side note, we could always replace the order with a new one. I've been thinking of an award gifted purely to those who have made significant cultural developments. Certainly it would need to have a needed niche - a lot of the present awards overlap in their roles.

You have a point. I was considering disbanding some Orders but didn't really know which one would have to go. :jesus

This doesn't mean that I'm not prepared to create a new Order in the future, but then we will have to look for a certain meaning for it. You have my support! :kaiser

I would advise Your Niftiness to leave the other orders alone if you don't want Erik to climb Raynor's Keep to rain hellfire on you...

I was never considering something like that, but now you told me this: I'm tempted to see it happen. :D

When I tried to demote the Order of the Chimera to an award, I was apparently "pissing on their memory" or whatever.

Mango should go and Gold Sword separated back into it's own Award again. Other then that... leave it be.

It means that you favor tradition above all, even if it's boring.

They call it the Golden Swan award. :tomcutterhamonfire

TRADITION!

P.S. If I write I good story, I don't want a bloody golden goose for a reward... I want something spiffy! Like a BIG FREAKIN' BATTLE AXE!

The Swans are for activity, not cultural development, although they can be the same from time to time.

It's not overly obvious what things apply to what.

Really I should make the little award icons animated. Then for cultural stuff we could have books flipping pages, etc.. Image
