So it's official - I have lost all my common sense and joined Shireroth! You all have the luxury of gaining me as a loyal citizen of this great Duchy. So my question is: what do I do now???

Maybe ask for a county?

Cape Farewell was offered, and I accepted (I think). What should I do once that's finalized? Is there some task awaiting me?

Once Lady Isabelle has appointed you the count... you can do whatever you want to. Make laws, develop culture, do a journey. That's the joy of Shireroth, you do what you want.

If you want to be told what to do I'm sure the Kaiser has job openings

Pretty much, yeah. Don't do anything illegal or against a direct order from your Baron, Duke or the Kaiser, you can do pretty much whatever you want to.

Ok I have a few questions. Umm - there's a flag for Cape Farewell, and a language. Am I obligated to retain those? Cause to be honest, I don't care for the flag, and the language made me wish that a random rocket would strike my house so I'd have an excuse not to try and decipher it anymore.

Ahaha, no, you are not obligated to retain those. Those are Ric/Rai's little children, so they are really just background information. Feel free to come up with a new flag and language if you want.

Isabelle is right.

As to the "fictional" history of it all, the speakers of the language almost all went away, to Ashkenazi lands in the south. So Cape Farewell pretty much consists of what's left from the exodus of the Elw, meaning probably some Elfinshi, and general Elwynnese

Problem: Incomprehensible culture
Solution: Viking Invasion...

It worked for Greenland/Hyperborea.

I kinda liked Cape Farewell. It was in a way the soul of Elwynn, the place Ric lavished his love on.

Why don't you take Cimmeria + Avaldsnes instead? Avaldsnes is already Viking, and Cimmeria could be settled without losing much.

I am not making Cape Farewell viking. And I have been having some long conversations with Ric over the ideas I do have; and so far there's nothing he's having a problem with. I should hope that if he's ok with me taking care of the place he lavished his love on, everyone else should be, as well.
