The Earldom of Dolor is here-by in a state of rebellion against the Duke of Brookshire for his interference with the bridges in the territory of Dolor. This rebellion will end when it pleases me. Which might be when the troops on the bridge are removed or killed by my troops. whichever comes first.

Oh, Erik understands the situation quite well, to the point where he's willing to ignore the hierarchy if it gets in his way since he believes this superiors are either unable or unwilling to take more drastic action against him.
