This concerns the Lawbook.
Chapter II, Section A, Sub-Section 2 shall be rewritten:
Chapter II Section D. as follows:
Chapter III. Section C as follows
I think this and pt 1 will cover what Ari wanted, to create a more dynamic feudal structure. Assuming both pass. We can have landed nobles with and without votes. Voting nobles without land. and nobles with neither land nor votes. But no vote will mean no voice in the Landsraad to keep things under control. The 10 vote system will give dukes the ability to reward their Lesser Nobles..etc. And of course. The Emissary System. That's next to be fixed.
Chapter II, Section A, Sub-Section 2 shall be rewritten:
Chapter II Section B clause 2 erased and the following added.2. Baronies
a. The lands of a Duchy may be divided up into subdivisions known as Baronies.
2. Fiefs
a. The lands of a Duke may be divided up into subdivisions and given as a fief to Lesser Nobles.
Chapter II Section C shall be amended as follows:B. Nobles
1. Duchies shall be ruled by a Noble known as a Duke or Duchess.
2. Baronies shall be ruled by a Noble known as a Baron or Baroness.
2. Dukes may appoint Lesser Nobles, who's title may be declared by the Duke, but may not be a title used by any part of the Imperial Government, including Duke or Duchess.
3. A duke may appoint Lesser Nobles without granting them a fief within the Duchy they reside.
C. Creation
1. Duchies
a. Duchies may by created from Shirithian land by full consensus of the Landsraad.
2. Baronies
a.BaroniesFiefs may be created from Shirithian land by a simple majority of the Landsraad. They may be placed under any Duchy with the agreement of its Duke.
c.BaroniesFiefs may be created from Shirithian land within any Duchy by the Duke of that same Duchy at will.
3. Promotion
a. The procedure for the promotion of aBaronyFief to a Duchy shall follow procedures for the creation of a new Duchy.
Chapter II Section D. as follows:
Now onto Chapter III: Nobles.D. Destruction
1. Duchies
a. A Duchy may be dissolved by full consensus of the Landsraad.
2. Baronies
2. Fiefs
a. ABaronyFief may be dissolved by a simple majority of the Landsraad.
b. ABaronyFief may be dissolved by the Duke of the Duchy in which it exists at will.
Chapter III. Section C as follows
Chapter III. Section FC.BaronsLesser Nobles
1. Powers Granted
a. AnyBaronLesser Nobles has complete power to do whatever he wishes within hisBarony, within his restrictions.
2. Restrictions
a. ABaronLesser Noble may not do any of the things denied to his Duke.
b. NoBaronLesser Noble may violate any restrictions placed upon him by his Duke.
c. ABaron'sLesser Noble's powers affect only hisBaronyFief and those within.
And from here on out it's just a matter of replacing the word Baron with Lesser Noble and Barony with Fief. Look to Chapter III. G. and Chapter VII. D. I think that covers all references.F. RemovingBaronsLesser Noble
1. ABaronLesser Noble may be removed by the Duke who appointed him or her.
